At the old Disney Hyperion Studio, the screening room where animators would show animated scenes to Walt for his approval was small, with no ventilation or AC. Not only was it hot, but the animators were nervously awaiting Walt's reaction to their work. Thus, the room became known as the Sweatbox. Even after the Studio moved to Burbank and elegant screening rooms were offered to the staff, the moniker remained.
Now SGT has a sweatbox of our own. This is the place to find and post all entertaining topics such as video links, jokes, games, and the like. A general rule of thumb is that if the thread is meant to be informative (interesting news stories for example), or a topic for discussion (like setting up a park meet) then it should go in the Break Room, but if the intent is to entertain the masses then it's home is The Sweatbox. I'm sure there will be grey areas at times, so if you have doubt as to where a new thread should go, just use your best judgement and the SGT Staff will be glad to move it later if you guessed wrong.

Around here, however, we don’t look backwards for very long.
We keep moving forward, opening up new doors and doing new things, because we're curious…
and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths.

Dude! Why does the campus tourguide need a map? And when did they start hiring HUMANS?BRWombat wrote:CAPTION CONTEST, Week 26 - I've somehow found myself on the campus of Monsters University! How would YOU caption this picture? Comment below!

Re: Caption contest
For his fourth win overall, Alan AJ Irby takes the prize! (Disclaimer: no prize.) With this caption, Alan ties previous leader ktulu for number of wins, but he has five Honorable Mentions to ktulu’s four, so Alan has jumped into the overall lead! Congratulations, Alan!

By the way, I’m also submitting the original undoctored photo (without me in it), but with Alan’s caption, to the Barbershop Memes Facebook page. They’ll love it!
Honorable Mentions: DisneyMom: "Wombat was not as shocked by the Locals on his second trip to Hollywood....."; Robin Belcher: "Brad, can you represent us? We are out of work till tax time."; Dan Stafford: “How many times do we have to go over this? The vowel shape is Aawww, not Arrrr!!”; and Shorty82: “Wow, the new Texas A&M cheerleaders sure are ugly!”
Thanks to all who entered! New picture coming Monday!

CAPTION CONTEST, Week 27 - Starting a new country is hungry business! How would YOU caption this picture? Comment below! The same pic will show here, on Facebook, and on The World of Wombat. I'll repost the pic with my favorite caption on Friday. (As always, no prizes, other than the glory/infamy of being chosen.)

Brad knew this legeslative body was in trouble when no one could agree on how to split the bill, and the only tip he got was from Ben Franklin... Don't be fooled by appearances. In Hawaii, some of the most powerful people look like bums and stuntmen.

My boss never told me admission was not included to deliver pizza to the Hall of Presidents. The tip better be good.

Despite his best efforts, he couldn't get "pizza" listed as one of the inalienable rights....
