I know this may seem un-American, but...I very rarely drink soda these days. Yes, I realize this is unheard of. However, I made the choice based on a couple of factors: First, I heard that soda acts like a "buzzsaw" on teeth, and to be honest, I don't need anything else eating away at them. Second, a bit less sugar and caffeine in my system probably isn't a bad idea as well.
Still, when I do drink soda, I prefer Coke to Pepsi, though I have no objection to drinking Pepsi. However, if I have a choice of pops, I like a good root beer, or even a sarsaparilla.

They are at DTD in Orlando. We went there to check it out last month, and there wasn't a line..it looks like you have to buy a ticket, but if you tell them what you're there for, they let you go on over...it's so cool! There are some flavor combinations that sounded a lot better than they tasted though (ewww orange diet coke) so you're well advised to try it before you get a whole cup.

I actually went a whole year without drinking a drop of soda. (And without realizing it, too!) Just had water and tea that entire time. Interesting experience.

Honestly I don't really care much for soda unless it tends to have an adult type beverage additive installed into it. To me it's not even near refreshing and just makes me more thirsty, so I drink iced tea 99.9% of the time. At parks I tend to carry around those little powder mixes (a box of them) of "Iced Tea" and dump them into water all day long.
Without an adult type beverage additive in my soda, I might have one Dr. Pepper every month and normally won't finish it. However, I've had the Pepsi Throwback. Which is made with sugar and not the corn syrup, now THAT actully tastes GOOD to me. I won't drink it every day but it's better tasting then the normal crap! The Canadian coke is also very good tasting and doesn't seem as horridly sweet as the US stuff.
As for caffeine, yeah you don't want to see me without it. I ran out of places to hide the bodies...

It always baffles me when people who choose not to drink soda treat it as if it were some giant social stigma their bucking. If you don't make a big deal out of it no one cares. I've managed to go my whole life with a severe dislike of cola, katsup, coffee and chocolate, all considered to be staple foods everyone is supposed to love, and the only one that really draws anyone's ire is my dislike of chocolate... and even that's rare... usually happens when I'm at an event and have to turn down cake.

Well, I was deliberately being overly dramatic in my post. However, I do think most people would be surprised to find out someone didn't drink soda, simply because so many folks do. Mind you, it is not as rare as your dislike of chocolate, but still it is considered something of an "oddity" when it comes up. I do agree, though, that the fact that someone doesn't drink soda is usually of little importance to most people.

I have absolutely no problem with anyone who does not like chocolate. More for me! :D:
