The worst is when they schedule you EXACTLY 8 hours or 8.5 hours between shifts and wont extend you out 15 minutes to get turnabout, and is even worse when the first day is 14 hours. I understand thye have a budget and all, but there should be some kind of safeguard on the scheduling managers systems to prevent this. The only thing that would help you out (though frowned upon by management if they find out you did this on purpose to force extend yourself) in these situations is dealing with a guest situation (i.e. lost child or alpha) and hope the managers will extend you out, or need people early the next day.
I hate those! I had so many shifts where I missed it by 5 minutes or so.

Meetings: There are a bunch of meetings. In bpgstudios' case, he's probably talking about the bi-weekly meetings that all area trainers attend in order to be updated on the latest goings on. There are also Lead meetings (same thing as trainer meetings), Cast Forums (a bunch of random CMs get together to talk about how things are and potential improvemens), and so on. You'll learn more about them the longer you're with the company.

Wishes: Fireworks GC, lol (I'm sure you knew this one already, you just overlooked it).

Special Assignments: Fairly self-explanitory, things that are outside your normal area. For Attractions, this includes manning special events.

Mission: Space has lots of alpha unit calls, as I'm sure you can imagine. I think the scariest for me, though, was when it was near the end of the night, I was launch director, and this group was slow coming out of the capsule because one of the members didn't feel well. They finally got out, and he collapsed on the floor. The man and woman with him told me not to call anyone, and were telling him to get up, that we were going to get mad at him, and so on and so on. Of course, we ignored them, and someone called 911 while I was in the room with them. It turned out they had gone on Test Track right before, and he hadn't felt well afterwards, but they went on the ride anyways.

One time we had someone throw their lit cigarette in the trashcan right outside the ride. Which isn't exactly a designated smoking area.

That is logical to them. He is not well so take him on the ride most people cannot ride. Not a gentle boat ride but a mean wild puking ride. Haul his arse out then say he is feeling ok. Wait until they sue when he is comatose or dead.

Only problem with this one is that you end up with speakers blasting Black Sabbath the whole time you wear it. :D:

Absolutely nothing, other than the language sometimes being a bit raw for the gentle ears of SGs.

Lot's of smoking related things today.

Told my first smoker he couldn't smoke where he was today. I was in Uptown Pins and when I was near the door going out onto Center Street I thought I smelled cigarette smoke. I step out and there's this guy leaning against the building smoking. I politely tell him he can't smoke there and told him where both Main Street smoking areas are (both about the same distance). He makes some smart remark about them being a mile away but he puts out the cigarette and moves on.

Later on I stepped out of the top door of the Chapeau to get down to the lower level as the ramp was crowded with guests and I see this guy sitting on the bench on the other side of the door from the smoking area smoking a cigar. I didn't say anything to him though as I didn't know how strict my managers want me to be about smoking outside of the DSAs.

I don't like the location of that smoking area anyway. Sometimes you can smell the smoke inside the Chapeau a little depending on the wind and you have to walk right through it to go through the backstage gate right there.

There's a smoker's stand (the kind that's a metal box on a pole with small holes on top) behind Main Street for CMs and this evening I saw a good bit of smoke coming from it. I tell the coordinator and he grabs a cup of water from the water cooler to put it out.

I'm learning where the DSAs are in the MK and thinking I might politely tell people smoking in wrong areas where they can smoke when I'm there as a guest. One time I came out of a door into Fantasyland and there was a guy right near it smoking, I had to walk right through the nasty cloud to get to the path. If I had known where a nearby DSA was I'd have said something.

Something happened near the tunnel entrance tonight. I come out and I see a firetruck with it's lights going near the outside stairs going into Fantasyland and when the bus pulled out I saw an ambulance (no lights going) behind it.
