I'm so happy for you. ^_^ And yes, when you wake up, I'll tell you myself... but I'm relieved to see it going right for you now, and if this is a niche you can fill well, I hope they realize it and are willing to keep you there for a while!

You know, I love it when managers actually listen and take the advice of their cast members... it makes you feel like you're playing an active role in the company.
We have a (somewhat similar) position in Fantasyland called Dream Maker. Basically, you do 5 magical moments every hour at specific times, but other than those you are free to roam around the area. We also have a small supply of re-ads, pixie dust, and no strings. Your radio call sign is definately better than ours! We have a direct connect "Dream Maker 1".

I repeat my original statement. I wish every day was like today.
Awesome, BW!!!!! This sounds perfect for you. I'm happy for you too (but unlike T'Kirr, I won't tell you in person when you wake up. Sorry. :D: )

Magic One is a very nifty call sign. Although, just from a sense of humor standpoint, I still prefer Lite Brite One, which is the Spectacle of Lights Ops Coordinator.

Congrats BW ...Sounds like you had bunches of fun. I am a bit confused, what exactley were you doing? Sounds like you got to help set up for a P&P party. Regardless, helium ballons are a blast to work with. ;)

Super, Big W. That is a role that you will fit to a T. I can't think of a better person for that role.
Not to steal your thunder, I went on my 2nd interveiw today and was offered a new FT position today, in my field, 15 minutes from the house. I start on the 24th. I just emailed scheduling to change my availability, I'll still stay FT at WDW for a while to make sure that this positiion will work for me but I'm going for just 32 hours a week now. If scheduling won't cooperate, I'll go back to CR.
Let's face it, $23.00 an hour sure beats $9.35 an hour.

Hey, I started the thread, I took it in the direction of radio call signs, so I have to take credit for that derail... if you can even call it that... and it had to happen sometime. Eleven pages of staying on topic is almost unheard of around here, and would almost disappoint me at this point.
I was talking to Kim, one of the coordinators at MK last night, wondering why she had stopped calling the drivers "her buttercups". Turns out a manager thought that was demeaning to us and unprofessional. I, as someone called that, found it entertaining and endearing. I will be going to said manager about it and nicely letting them know what I think.
To Cranbiz- Woohoo! More money is definitely a good thing, especially if you can get it, enjoy it and still have enough hours at Disney to stay FT and keep the benefits that come with that. I hope they'll listen to you.

Polar33 wrote:Forgive the derail, but while we are on the subject of amusing radio call signs, during Disneyland's 50 birthday, the manager in charge of overseeing the operation of handing out all the cupcakes to the guest was "Cupcake One". It's even more amusing considering that said manager is definately not someone who you would call "cupcake".
Well, I'll contribute to this derail. The guest control lead for Nemo (yes, there's a lead just for the queue) is Shark Bait 1. It's themed to the attraction and when it goes down, that's what you are. I thought that was an hilarious call sign.
