CM's that got fired.

This is the place to tell us about the stupid things fellow employees can do.

Oh! DW and I took the WDW behind the magic tour, and at some point the CM mentioned that each employee got an allowence for having guest in the parks, but didn't really elaborate. I make the assumption that they somehow limit it or have some provisos.

It is usually the number of dependents you claim on your taxes. But if you don't claim any you get three. At least that's how many I got. I can get up to three guests in 6 times a year. But if I let only one guest in that still counts as one of my 6 uses.

That still seem very generous. but then again, I buy the annual pass and it isn't really that expensive!

With all our trips to the Magic, we never have bought annual passes. I think we may do that this time. We go enough to be worth it, but we just never have thought about it.

I'm jealous. I'm often on the cusp of being worth it to get a pass. It's close, but not quite there...

I wish I could move down there like you (then I would definitely buy a pass! My mom lives up in St. Augustine and she keeps a pass just so she can take day trips for shopping if nothing else!) but sadly, everyone's afraid of putting their data so close to sea level so it doesn't look like there are a whole lot of job openings for my skill set. I was even looking just yesterday at applying for Disney tech jobs, but I wonder if I'd feel like a "real" CM doing that... It seems like it'd be so far removed. I'd probably just be helping the crappy mid-level managers who've never met a park CM in their lives anyway... :(

Edited to add: there's some incentive to kick this smoking habit...maybe then I'd live long enough to retire and then I can go live next door to Susi and then we can go annoy Big Wallaby and Zazu (and all our other favorite CM's...pretty much all of you here) as often as we like!

YES! We should all live in the same neighborhood and have block parties and BBQs and annoy each other. I am just praying with every fiber of my being that the Real Estate market turns around along with the mortgage industry and we CAN sell our house. We have so much invested here that we HAVE to sell before we can buy. But we can move out and keep it on the market and rent somewhere down in Florida or Anaheim as a try out to see where we want to land (I KNOW I want to be in Florida, NOT So Cal)....And that tryout may happen sooner than we think. It is a great idea and our Financial Advisors think it is a good idea as well so that is what counts, they control the $$ strings in many ways. It was the idea of the most important financial advisor , so we may well be on our way to storing most of our *stuff* and renting a little place in Florida to cjeck things out for a year to get the feel of all 4 seasons and see if we love it! Right now I could take that 80 degrees and they can have this sucky snow. We have YET more coming on Friday!!!!!! We already have 8-9 inches here and thet expect another storm like the last one so we will probably get 4-6 more inches. Gad I hope there are NO storms next week to dealy our flight out on Thursday! 8 DAYS!!!!!!!!! Til we meet our beloved DL CMs and Disneymom! YAY!!!!!!!!! :D:
I NEED this trip after all the sorrow from this year. Feeling it a bit today, will go to the proper thread to talk about it.... :(

You know Kwahati, that is not a bad idea working for Disney, Even if you have to put up with management and that stuff, at least you will be at the Mouse and can then determine where you want to be in the tech part of the company and probably with your talent, you would move up quickly! You definitely have determination and that will work in your favor! Then we can all be there together and have outings to the Park and meets and dinner together at Le Cellier or a Princess character meal...Bwahahahahahahaha..J/K!
I am forcing Ralph to do an Ariel's Grotto lunch at DCA this trip. He so wants NOT to go, I may let him skip it and go myself and let him go to the Cove bar for a Martooni and he will appreciate it. I have never been to a Princess character meal and I like the glamour gals, so I wan tot ry it once. I probably won't make Ralph accompany me. he will be happy for that kindness. I know like drcorey said, "Which one of my litle friends do you want me to fry up for your meal?"

I do, too.

I agree. There should be an entire SGT housing development. There's a great investment opportunity for all of us. We'll have to get BR Wombat to draw up the paperwork for us! But there would have to be a buyout clause so if any of our SGTers wants (or needs) to leave us, we don't have to risk SG's moving in and driving our property values and quality of life down!

Let me know how you like that character meal. I'm not generally into them except as an easy way to get some pics with the characters. The food at the ones I've been to has been mediocre at best. I have an issue with buffets in general (actually a couple of issues). First, there's food quality and the direct corollary, food temperature (I hate cold food that's supposed to be hot or food that's kept adequately hot and is therefore incredibly overdone) and second there's the problem of watching others gorge themselves that kinda makes me lose my appetite. I'm not a small guy, but some of these people... I saw a guy at Crystal Palace just before thanksgiving who emptied better than half of a 2" half pan (cook speak for a good size pan for food) full of pasta onto his plate!!! (And it was one of the few Veggie dishes! Leave some for the rest of us, buddy!) On the other hand, some of those princesses are kinda nice (I'm not gonna go all "I love Ariel" on here, but you know what I'm talking about...if there are any princesses out there who need a date to the "ball", gimme a call! I might not be a prince, but I'm no frog either! [Damn frenchies! :p: {j/k}]) Oh, and I'm totally multi-cultural too, I live with an Albino and a Twinkie (yellow on the outside, white on the inside!) so I'm fine with ANY of the princesses! :D:  :p:

Edited to add: yes, I did use braces, brackets and (many sets of) parentheses in that paragraph...and I think I used them all correctly! How big a geek am I?

Edited to additionally add: "I love you period -- Do you love me question-mark -- Please, please, exclamation-point -- I wanna hold you in parentheses" (I don't remember who sang that, but I just thought of it and thought I'd share since, clearly, if it's important enough to be in my head, it's important enough to share with you all!)

Oh yeah those buffets are interesting! I was a cook at the Sonoma State University dormitories after living in them for 4 years. It was a great job with excellent bebbies for a start before my Illustious(?) radio career! ;) So I know about those pan sizes. That is a LOT of food to be eating for one serving! I see that happen at Country Buffet all the time. We call those people *hambeasts*! They do not know how to control themselves at a buffet! It is fascinating to watch some of them, and you are correct, downright disgoosting to watch others. We don't go to Country Buffet, AKA Hometown Buffet, in other states anymore. We have not been there for a year and a half at least. It is too easy to over eat or waste food there. I like a Chinese Buffet we have here in Denver, but we don't get there very often, as it is on the east side of town and we are way up on the northwest side and it is a good 20 miles just to eat and then drive back.

We always do character meals, great photo ops and we LOVE the characters. Ralphie especially loves Pooh and I cannot get enough of Eeyore and Mickey and Minnie! Goofy's Kitchen (in the DL Hotel) buffet for breakfast is actually quite good. Plaza Inn as well. We have not had a bad meal at either of those at DL. As I said, we have never done Ariel's grotto. I wanted to just once for the photo ops with the Princesses. Ralph is very shy around the Princesses, he is so funny. Girls embarrass him. He is just shy that way. hehehe...But we do have resses for Plaza Inn and Goofys as well. And our fave, Blue Bayou for the famous Monte Cristo sandwich! Oh that is heaven!!!!!!! A friend tried to get us resses for Club33, but it seems there are a LOT of Christmas parties and resses, so we will try again on our next trip at the end of January on my birthday trip. That is what I ask for every year for my birthday, a trip to DL!!!! Our friend will try to get us resses for Club33 then and it should not be as difficult during the slow season. :)

And just remember: We princesses have to kiss a LOT of frogs before we meet our handsome Prince. :king: We know you are all out there and eventually the right Princess will find you too...I found my Prince in Ralphie...awwwwwww... :o:
