Like I say, if the hoof fits, wear it and I think you should get a warthog costume if they are in stock.

The restriction is on food locations. The card was setup to work only in merchandise locations. Since the Confectionery is a merchandise location the card works there. The only restrictions I know of with the card are that someone can't get a CM discount and use a Birthday Fun Card, which makes sense considering CMs are not eligible to get the card, and it can only be used at Disney owned shops, not Operating Participants.

Picked up some free fudge today from a tall guy at 5:45. Don't know if you are that tall guy.

I'm not sure on the REAL reason it's not allowed for food, but the P.R. reason is that the Fun Card is intended to buy you a "Birthday Gift", not a "Birthday Meal." I avoid using this explanation, however, since if you ask me, Pomme Frites are a gift from god.

Give me my card in Taste Pilot cheddar burgers on gluten free bun, lots of ice water, and 25 orders of criss cross fries please. It is my birthday and my gift should be something good for me and I want criss cross fries.

I need to loose weight and take thyroid and cholestorol medicine but first let me have one last birthday wish, them fries.

Okay, so DLR CMs need to use the longer one, but it seems that WDW CMs just need, "Any Disney owned store where you are offered a bag for your purchases."

If these are true than it seems we have come up with a simple answer for a simple question that seems so complicated.

No, it works at any location that is non-food and owned by Disney.

And it does work at Marcelines in DTD because that is not a "Dining" location, but a merchandise location that just happens to sell products that can be safely consumed.

And I think Merchandise is easier to write off than food would be. At least that is my conspiracy theory behind the Fun Card only working on non-Dining.
