Actually they roost in trees so wild ones can fly short distances. Domesticated ones on the other hand do not do so well when dropped from helicopters.

And they are so dumb they will drown in a rainstorm!vixen101485 wrote:Did you ever watch WKRP in Cincinnati? That is my 2nd favorite episode next to the one where the trooper does a sobriety test on Johnny Fever and with every drink his reflexes improve instead of diminishing.

for lack of a dead splatted on the ground smiley this my turkey attempting to fly by using his tail feathers instead of his wings. PSST ...dont tell him but they are not the brightest birds.
In 2004 I was flying to Orlando and in the seats just in front of me was an Asian family, I assume on the way to WDW. They had a small child, I would think about 4 years old. I looked between the seats at one point and there was the Mother cutting an orange up for the child with a paring knife. It had at least a 4 inch blade. I did a flash judgment and decided that they were not a threat so instead of causing them tons of hassle I just watched closely, ready to jump if necessary. Obviously, nothing happened but I did inform the Airline after so they would know just how lax the security check must have been.GRUMPY PIRATE wrote:Guess what? The knives are back!! DW and I flew back from WDW, and when we had lunch, we actually got a knife, fork, and spoon,(Metal!!) in our rolled up napkin!! WooHoo!!!
I live in Vermont and never go to a Ben & Jerry's store or buy the Ice Cream. No real reason...just not that attracted.GRUMPY PIRATE wrote:Ben and Jerrys (drroooooool) the hardest thing to do is decide when you go to one of their stores!!!
My favorite TV show of all time WKRP in Cinncinati...They finally got the rights to the music used in the show, so they released the first season on DVD. They have to get the rights to use the music in the release of the Dvds since they are licensed material...It could be a while before we see subsequent seasons come out. I was so happy to see Season One. Things are not so far off from the truth of how a radio station really works in that show!!! Let's just say I knew some Johnny Fevers and Venus Flytraps. I was the Bailey Quarters of the show!vixen101485 wrote:Did you ever watch WKRP in Cincinnati? I highly recommend this book: High Calling: The Courageous Life And Faith Of Space Shuttle Columbia Commander Rick Husband. It's a biography of the commander, written by his wife.GRUMPY PIRATE wrote:I was thinking about the people that were supposed to meet the shuttle. That must have been upsetting!

very interesting about the copyrights to the music. Did they not have them before or do they need them now since the songs will be played in a different format ? (DVD as opposed to TV)susislicker wrote: :D:
