HUGS BIG W!
 Mean ole driver man, picking on our marsupial. Let me know who he is and I will sik my 4 yr old on him. Trust me after 2 hours of her he will be a different person. I wonder what he would have said if you had not been in costume (is that the correct term) and just having fun with other guests or a random guest entertaining others.
I am glad the Manager had some common sense. Make sure you let us know where you will be so we can be entertained like we like to be. I find automated speils so boring and probably wont hear them. I know my BF "wont" hear them literally (as in 20% hearing loss) so I hate having to repeat. Intercoms he does hear but recordings he has trouble with. Wonder if it is the nuances in a live voice that makes a difference  Sorry off track there-random musings. We will be looking for you and cant wait to see you and the wifey at Ohana. PARTY ON!

I was never flaming. If I have a flaming side, then I am still in the closet and have something to tell myself, before I even tell my wife or any of you.

Just back from a great week at WDW. I hate the MiMs!! I miss the interaction with the drivers. I miss the sing a longs on the way back from the park! I wrote Disney with my opinion also. Probably won't do much but I did it none the less.

Met the nicest CM there as well. We were chatting with the couple behind us on Maelstrom and were having a nice conversation when we got on the ride. We saw the Polar Bear and this guy yells Coca Cola. I yelled The official Soft Drink of WDW and he laughed so hard. It was nice. Next day I ran into him at Animal Kingdom. Never even mentioned he worked there. He said he liked talking to us the night before, and he wrote me a fastpass for Expedition Everest.

Another nice thing happened as well. Went to get a bottle of water at a stand. The woman said she was closed, I said thank you and started to walk away. The man that was training her said "Give it to him" They would not take money even. As I turned to leave, he said to the girl. "That is how you treat a nice guest" I was actually honored and saddened by that.

Heres to all of you and what you do.
:D:

If only every day was like today. One thing after another, it just kept getting better... even with my ineptitude for it being my first time doing many of the things I needed to do today.

It started when I went to the Magic Kingdom, and I was told that I needed to cover a few runs for them and then they would break me off so I could do the new role they have. Okay, that'll be fun. They sent me on a couple runs, and after about an hour and a half, they broke me and told me to go enjoy the barbecue up on the hill. While I was up there, I got talking to the person who was supposed to train me, wound up getting to work after ten minutes on break (my choice, not anyone else's), and never did check back in from lunch. But that's okay, they knew where I was and did it for me on the labor board. I spent a few hours filling balloons in the manager's office, where I became a witness to a manager responding to a guest on the phone, witness to his character in the situation. Later, as I was doing this, I got talking to other managers that came and went, and said something to one about the MiMs, to which she responded that I shouldn't allow it to ruin my guest interaction, and she left the statement open to interpretation (after a moment where she seemed to choose her words carefully... her expression showing that she wasn't necessarily thrilled with the system). I started talking to her about some of the ideas I've mentioned here and others, she got on her computer, sent e-mails practically demanding that I get access into the Disney e-mail program so I can pass on my ideas and help make things happen. She loved the idea of having Mickey talk on the bus, along with many the ideas I presented. Soon, it was time for me to go and I went out with all my balloons to Load Zone 4 at MK to welcome the incoming princesses and pirates. This includes a photo, balloons, red carpet, the pirate school, a certificate and other things. In a show of how long it's been since I went out sailing, I tied the balloons the wrong way and inadvertantly released most of them into the canopy over the load zones, earning me a good teasing from coordinators and other drivers. But they want me back to do it again, so I'll be there! In fact, I'll bid Magic Kingdom for the duration of my time in buses... and I'm guessing I won't be spending much more time driving after this. If it all works out that they need someone to constantly fill that post, I may stay in buses for quite some time.

Later, when I was sitting at TTC waiting to clock out, I was given the training literature for the position I had been playing tonight. Along with that was a No Strings Attached book... an entire book of forms for when I need them. As someone doing that duty, I am expected to be someone they can trust to hold onto that book and use it wisely.

But I haven't told you one of the neat parts of the job. I have the best radio callsign of anyone at Disney World. I don't care if Meg Crofton has a radio callsign, the one I filled is better, and the best at the World: Magic One. It describes the job in a nutshell, and I have a great respect for the title and job. It's all very simple, all very cheap, but it makes a lifetime of memories in just a few minutes. Like I said, I hope I can be a part of that... and if I could possibly do that full-time, it would be a long while before I get out of buses. Quite a change from most of what I've said in this thread, eh?

When I was clocking out, a manager was passing me and said something about how all day they had had a shopper report on their desk for me, but hadn't noticed it until just then. After I clocked out, I knew there was a manager at MK, so I went over in my car and talked with them about the shop. Out of 100 points, I scored 91. We discussed the one thing that didn't score as well on the shop, which is something I am usually much better at on the bus, but the shopper was not on a good run to judge that anyway. It's also a weakness that I recognize in myself and will work on.

I repeat my original statement. I wish every day was like today.
