Sociopathic Behavior
Again, it is nothing less than verbal abuse and you were right to not let them ride- hopefully they would be banned from Parks as well. Telling YOU to lighten up.......amazingly shameless

I have a doctorate in psychology, yet people like these are beyond my scope of understanding (as well as beneath my contempt). Will she next have her little darling dance around the Indy stage yelling, "Hey, maybe we'll get to see someone die today?" I've said it before and I'll say it again...the gene pool is in some SERIOUS need of chlorine. If I ever heard someone say something like that, their kid's ears (and their own) would turn black and fall off from the verbal onslaught they'd get from me. That's why I could never, ever be a CM unless I was behind the scenes shoveling horse poop or somesuch.

I wonder if I could work sociopath into a response? In that case it would have been a good one.
That is the word I have been looking for to describe so many people.

The one nice thing in this for the Indy performers is that they are insulated to some degree from the guests. They will quickly learen to not volunteer information, and they won't have to hear anything from guests. Same with the Pirate Tutorial Cast. For us, we get to face them every day and their comments will continue to flow freely. It is such a relief to get a guest who just doesn't know about the incident.

At least the horses won't try to hurt you unless you've done something to deserve it.
As for your idea of chlorine, Speedfreak has a good idea: Take the warning labels off products that shouldn't need to be there. If someone decides they need their hair to be dry despite the fact they are still in the shower, well, putting a tag there to stop them is messing with natural selection.
As far as losing faith in humanity, I know that these sociopaths are the minority. For the most part. But I still have times I would just like to send everyone home because of them.

When we've been there to see my friend, Indy and and Marion were out at the end signing autographs (after the show was over). I hope none of the SGs are tasteless enough to say anything at that time, or perhaps Disney will suspend that temporarily. I never even realized they came out until I hung around one time to chat with my friend after it was over.

Of course you can BW!! When guests are sociopathic, act sociopathic, deserve the term, or you feel sociopath is a good fit, use it! They abuse you CMs to the depths of your souls. Application of the term could benefit & empower you. Most SGs won't have a clue as to the word nor will they remember. Go for it BW! :)

BW, would it be better for those of us that are sympathetic, to just let it lie? Is it just too painful to hear one more person express condolences? My kids read your post and were just APALLED!! We want to be supportive, but not intrusive. And since we'll be down in Oct., we don't want to add to the problem.

There is a Buddhist saying that says:
"It is only natural for the ignorant to harm others. To hate them for this is like hating the fire for burning."

Don't want to argue with Buddha, but from BW's account, this is beyond ignorance. It's evil, pure and simple.

I will be there in late September and was wondering the same thing. I have been thinking about this alot actually. I really don't think I could just act like it never happened. The monorails, CM's and Walt Disney World mean so much to me. But maybe just a hug(for the guys and gals I know) and a kind word of condolence(sp), and just move on and not dwell on it would be best.
Again..I don't know. :(
