This was posted on a Disney Fan Newsletter I get. Thought you might like it.

I just read a tip on the newsletter that "Heelys" are no longer allowed in Disney World. Can you verify if this is true? I was just buying my niece and nephews Heelys as well as a pair for myself to cruise around the parks on our family reunion event in May. When I was there last year every kid had them on. Has something happened?
Hi Tania!
This is not a new policy. Wheeled footwear such as "Heely"-type shoes, in-line skates, and roller skates have always been banned from the parks. This is also true of scooters and skateboards. It appears that park management has finally decided to fully enforce this rule, probably due to the fact that so many people are suddenly arriving in the parks wearing "Heelys."
I've recently heard rumors that guests wearing "Heelys" were threatened with fines, so to avoid an unpleasant experience, it would be better to leave the wheels at home.

I have been in all of the parks since Sunday and have seen heelies everywhere. No one seems to be stopping the kids that slide on by you. I admit they aren't causing a problem, but I am concerned for their safety.

wdw96.Sad to say,I don't give a s**t anymore. How many times can you warn your bosses, the general public? Let them Crash & Burn, walk away with the knowlege that you 'tried' to tell them so.

There happens to be a thread on "another WDW board" on this very same topic. I got pi$$ed at a few that said the CM's don't do anything about it. I wish U all could get some support from the upper ups and just have the wheels confiscated at the gate and if the wheels don't come out...then back to the resort they go to change or purchase other footwear. I would imagine that word would spread quickly. Its not fair to those of you inside the park to have to do the splendid jobs U do for us + having to babysit the spawn of idiots that bought the damn shoes in the 1st place.
Sorry, but I just hate those things & I love CMs!!!

I have actually yet to see a kid fall on those things. But I'm still hopefully so that I can point and laugh.
I was at a store at Universal the other day and it was empty except for a kid skating all over the place (parents absent, of course), I gave the CM a knowing look and she rolled her eyes in agreement.

I work right across the street from a mall... and it's such a pain to try to walk to your car (I park in the mall garage) and constantly have to dodge little bastards on Heelys! So I just trip them with something. Usually my scarf.
One shoe ALMOST as bad as Heelys... Crocs.
Does anyone else hate those things?

Apparently not. They're currently capitalized at 1.91 billion and their stock has been trending up since June 2006.

OKAY, so yesterday I'm a my favorite hangout (yes MS it was Alfies) .Sooo I sit down with a buddy of mine (yes I have friends).I look up and some kid about 7 yrs old is 'cruising' around the pool-tables with a GLASS tumbler in her hand.

Drinking her soda.
I'm thinking to myself "Pleeeeze, don't crash and burn,it's been a long day"
Nature should smite the evil a**hole who invented those F'in things

Okay, I'll admit I own crocs. They are comfy, I can hose them off and the best thing, they don't make my feet stink. Seriously, given the right conditions I can make a skunk run away when I take off my shoes. I've been asked not to return to various public places.
However, you won't find me on some other forums going on and on about how I love crocs. I like em, I don't love em.
Now my daughter, all she wants to wear is her crocs. But she has the Disney ones and is cute, so who cares.

Okay, I guess I should have made a clarification about the Crocs. I guess it just pisses me off when people wear them with outfit that call for better shoes. I work in a law office, and we have one assistant here who will come to work in nice slacks and a button-down, but she'll wear her stupid crocs!! She'll wear them to meetings with clients! And the managers never say anything to her!! If I have to follow the dress code, she should, too!
Yeah, so that was completely off topic... my bad.
