turkeyham wrote:That is good to hear that you are feeling better. As for me, I did have an ultra sound done to check for kidney stones and problems that come with them. Disney mom, I have a question? Since when do the doctors do an ultra sound near the arm pits to find the kidneys? I could have sworn the kidneys are in the middle to lower back. This morning I passed a sliver type stone and another sliver type stone again at work. At least the last surgery broke the stones into the splinters. These were all protein stones. Can you give me a suggestion on how to change my diet? Thanks. :)
Can't think of why they were doing ultrasound near armpits

Other than always staying very well hydrated, I'm not aware of a "kidney stone diet" so I'll look that one up and PM you any info I find.

Please feel better soon! :)

Ask Big Wallaby about that. Last time I saw him yesterday he was in enough pain from that that he wanted a ROS.

I don't know why a hospital wants to be judged by the standards of a theme park, but boy howdy can I give them a review! (I've written four pages so far.) I don't think my health suffered any, but my attitude took some major hits; theirs should too when they read it!
Well, we want to hear the Stupid Hospital Stories!

Because of the type of kidney stones I kept having, they told me that diet coke was a contributing factor. So, it was more water and less diet coke for me.

Zazu - so glad you're back and coherent and hopefully about to regale us with SHS. Of course, anyone here who has surgery pending should not read Zazu's stupid hospital stories. I imagine they will frighten young children and surgery patients.

I've had two abdominal surgeries in my life, once in the early 70s, another in the late 90s. I noticed quite a few diffeences. In the 70s, they did more for you. I had a benign ovarian cyst removed, and the hospital stay was a week. In the 90s, I had surgery to drain a cyst that developed as a result of adhesions from the first surgery. I had to do more stuff on my own, and I was in the hospital only a couple of days. I had the feeling that they were trying to rush me out of the hospital. Of course, when I had my first surgery, I was on my parents' insurance; the second surgery, I was a charity case. That also may have made a differance.

Take it easy, Zazu, and don't worry, I'm sure the feathers they had to pluck will grow back soon. :D: :p:
