The reason I was offended and felt I had to defend myself to start with was that I was called stupid and promiscuous based on the fact that I was a cheerleader that competed at Disney. All of you made it sound like the young men and women that work so hard to compete down there care about nothing but seeing how much sex they can have in the park. I know of cast members who have had sex in a closet in the castle. Does that mean they are bad people? no, sex is going to happen when young people with lax parents are put together. It can even happen when older generations are put together. Basically it just happens. I'm not saying I condone this or partake in it.
You say I "couldn't take disney," as a cast member you should notice that the batch of CPs you work with change every 7 months. My contract with disney ended I didn't leave by choice. I had to finish school because as much as I'd love to work for Disney for the rest of my life I can't imagine dealing with stupid guests all day (I'd much rather deal with stupid cast members when I can do something about their stupidity.) I also have a favorable re-hire status and could start back any time i'd like.

We may not be all geniuses here, but we love what we do. Yes, Uppy, I've noticed that the cast members change- some stay some leave for reasons like school, or others reasons be they personal or otherwise.
I deal with "Stupid Guests" all day. They come in and look to see if there are any bathrooms in the same building as the restaurant I work in. If they ask me, or any of my fellow cast members, we tell them where the restrooms are.

No. You took offense at something that was directed at a (unfortunately) sizable minority of cheerleaders, assuming that the OP meant all cheerleaders. You assumed, and you flew off the handle. The fact of the matter is that, while it's a generalization, it is a generalization that many of our cast members have developed based on FIRST HAND EXPERIENCE.
Frankly, if you're going to hang around here, you need to do two things. First, you need to grow a thicker skin. Second, you need to drop your high and mighty attitude. Your posts have been condescending and, honestly, borderline abusive to the long time members of this forum, many of whom have CHOSEN to work for Disney because they love the atmosphere. I suggest that you drop the attitude, apologize for the blanket group attacks you made in some of your earlier posts, and then lurk around for a while, observing the forum and it's culture, before you post again.

Considering the language of your posts, I am really surprised that you have favorable re-hire status. You do not understand nor have the skills to implement Walt Disney's vision. You cannot see past even the most inane person and find the diamond in the rough.
I oversee a group of about twenty sales clerks at my job at Knott's. I have been with many of them for years. They are like family to me. Granted, I have had my fair share of really bad co-workers. Yet, I have been able to find at least one good thing about all of them. Some are good at stocking. Others have stellar guest service. Sure we butt heads, but all in all you will not find a more amicable group.
As Abraham Lincoln once said,"If you look for the bad,you will surely find it."

Funny this seems like the point I was trying to make, except It was don't sterotype all cheerleaders based on such a small majority.
Let me try to step into the middle with some calming words. It's possible that there have been misunderstandings and generalizations that have become misunderstood on all sides.
When someone in this site references a Stupid (whatever) they are denoting which person(s) of that group. Not that the entire group is universally stupid. Also "Stupid" is not necissarily a label applied to the persons intelligence but the fact that this person displayed non-thinking tendancies. Such stupidity may be a temporary, inspired by being on vacation, being in a group that may tend towards boisterous activities, or by being a person who is unintelligent or naturally annoying. Only the last ones are permanent, unrecoverable situations.
So when this thread began with a discussion of "Stupid Cheerleaders" they were not equating Stupid with Cheerleaders but denoting the behavior of the cheerleaders who displayed stupid or unthinking behaviors. This automatically says that if there are some cheerleaders who are stupid, it also shows that there are at least some of them that are not. Otherwise if Stupid and Cheerleader were equal using both words together would be redundant. By using both words it shows that not everyone of the second named group are included in the first.
Thus when the posting came that defended Cheers and further stated that CMs were less driven people who had no ambition or work ethic, it hurt. That inspired some hot responses that may have inflamed the situation.
So may I suggest that we all agree that not everyone of any single group (Cheerleaders, Brazillians, CMs, Guests, etc) act or display intelligent behaviors, but at the same time not all the persons of that group are unintelligent. I am yet to meet any group in which every single member of that group is blazingly intelligent (and also non-annoying) or are barely above the intelligence of mold. Most of us fall somewhere inbetween, and the intelligence of our actions and words can vary greatly over time and in various situations. If we all agree to this we may find that we can all be on the same side of this discussion. The persons (of whatever group under discussion) who display "stupid" or "annoying" behaviors can be documented, laughed at and commiseration be given to those who have to deal with those persons (either as a CM or as a fellow guest). While also realizing that the only persons being so discussed are the ones displaying bad behavior and not the entire group. And further understanding that the same person who was "stupid" this moment may be a hero guest moments later (not always, but there is a potential).

As I see it, the problem is that you think we were talking about you personally everytime we said "Cheerleader". None of us spoke of YOU personally until you came on to say insulting things about CMs and every member on this forum specifically. You made a point of NOT APOLOGIZING.
And Now you deign yourself as the one to intervene in our faulty thinking....

Actually you said
uptown_girl wrote:I was a cast member for 7 months. After seeing the way cast members are treated by Disney I packed my bags and came home.
That is not the same as "my contract ended' That statement says you left due to poor treatment (either of yourself or other cast members). Don't change your story now.

Also, look at those of us that post and why we complain about certain people within certain groups. My ultimate reason is the guest.
If you do something that inconveniences me, I can deal with that; I am a big boy. If you do something that inconveniences yourself, I will help you through it as best I can or get you to someone who can. We all have our moments. But the one thing that gets me frothing at the mouth is if you diminish in any way another guest's experience and show by your actions. At that point, I wish I could put you in a catapult and show you a quick view of the entire park on your quick exit, just so you stop ruining the show and magic for other people.
As DisneyMom put it, many of the people we call SG's and joke about are probably nice, smart people in their own lives. But at Disney World, where they want to get as much in as possible, where they don't care about the other 29,996 people in the park at the same time, where they paid good money to be here and are going to have fun, dammit... well, that can bring out the worst in people. When I call something a Stupid Guest Trick, I am usually referring more to "trick" than "guest" when I use the word "stupid" but there are moments where it's obviously not just a matter of the above issues, but they have a complete disregard for their and anyone else's safety (like the kid that KidAtHeart and I saw on BTMR stand up in his car to hit one of the bats). It's the ones with malicious stupidity that I have no problem calling SG's.
I don't know if you worked a high-spieling attraction when you were here, but I do. It's all I do, beside driving, making sure I don't run into animals, making sure that when the ride comes to a start and finish I am close enough to the docks to keep people safe, etc. The thing I really can't stand is when someone gets on their cell phone and won't stop talking loudly, making it so I can't speak over them, and so I keep driving without talking, as I am not allowed to stop. But I am taking care of enough that it's pretty much impossible to try to talk over the idiot who can't wait 20 minutes while he experiences the most special attraction at any park anywhere in the world... or the people who won't sit down (literally) to save their own lives because they want to get a picture (and I can tell you that standing doesn't make the picture any better). So if you hear me insulting someone, it's going to usually be a personal attack against one person, not an entire group (except, say, the Brazilian groups that get on the safari, making so much noise that the animals scatter and don't return for the next five or six trucks.... that's about 200 people for whom one group messes up the show because they just don't care).
Now you see where I, and most posters on this site, are coming from. As you were here an entire seven months, you had enough time to see that of which I am speaking, no matter what area you worked (unless your position was concierge at the Beach Club).
So I would like to apologize... seven months isn't that long, but it is one CP term. I made the assumption that you were a CR or FT.
