Lawyers need some explaining.

I said he needs lessons.
These lessons can come from any singer.
I added a clause that said he should first start with a "good and cute" singer.
The person I suggested was Wombat

Thus if Wallaby started off with a "good and cute" singer then that would be Wombat.

I thought a lawyer would understand that but then again ....

I'd like to know why almost every time I take Community Drive/DVC Way to Buena Vista Dr a driver has to stop at that intersection for like 2 minutes. I'm assuming s/he's futzing with the computer before they pull into Marketplace and I'm glad s/he's not doing while driving but is it really that difficult? :( :banghead:

Edit: wow, major lurkage. I could have sworn I've posted before, heh.

I was on one bus the other day going into DAK, and the driver had to stop because he couldn't get the code in properly. Stopped in a throughway for a good couple minutes, passengers are listening to the spiel and trying to get out of the bus (it's funny how they don't try to look at where the bus is before they try to disembark), and I was sitting there thinking to myself, "Wow, what great guest show."

So in answer to your question, I guess it must be for some.

Why more drivers don't use a stop along the way to start the tour code sequence, I'll never know. The box will still operate normally (if it's working right) if you start the sequence after you leave the resort, so why don't they do it?

It's a rareity that I'm calling for a dispatch without the screen flashing T2* (if I'm at MK) at me and all I need is the last 3 digits (to which a good driver has the cheat sheet handy to confirm codes).

It really is not rocket science, all you need is a willingness to try to make it work and some common sense (and a working box)

It's the lack of functioning boxes that has Big Wallaby frustrated (and the way that the powers that be want the system used, taking the guest interaction away from the drivers that want it)

I was reading the latest bus newsletter today amd it had an article on the "sucessful Phase 1 implementation" of MiM's. In it the writer ( a Sr. Manager) stated that he was riding a bus that was Signal 72 to one of the AllStars. He said that there was none of the guests talking, just listening to the automated spiels and music. Claimed that the guests were fasinated with the system and how it is such a great guest service.

My first question in my mind was "What planet was he on?" then, "What drugs was he on and did he have more?"

Then I got cynical, thinking "That Lying weasel"

I'm sorry, the situation as described, will happen only when I own the Ice Water consession in Hell. (or as a dream in a Sr. Managers mind) :figment:

Look, I really do want the system to work as there are benefits to it. I will still do my show and work with the system to give my guests the best ride of their trip (competition is weak in this dept. Only Wallaby can beat me and soon he will be at KSR or Monorails) but the sugar coating of the still serious flaws in the system will never make it work properly. Fix it right or stop using it until it is 100% functional.

I happened to see the Bus Crewz News article too, where it was silent, except that everyone started singing "Take Me Out to the Ball Game" along with the music. I wonder if they sang along all seven times that it plays... in a row...

All I can think is that this manager rode from Magic Kingdom to the resorts, because at MK, they still haven't heard it all multiple times.

Well, something happened yesterday, that I am not sure I should discuss here until I have spoken to a manager about it. In short, I got in trouble for just doing what they preach in the Basics. When I do speak to the manager this afternoon, I am going to let them know that I am not cutting it in buses, and one of three things needs to happen. Two options I like, but one of them I absolutely hate. I think you'll know which options are which.
  1. They give me an exemption so that I can turn off the audio portion of the MiMs, so that I can have the interaction with the guests for which I came to Disney. I do understand that this option will happen when Hell freezes over.
  2. They will recast me immediately. I signed on to buses when we were allowed and SUPPOSED to interact with the guests, and the job description changed without any notification before I took the job that it was going to be this way
  3. I make a waste of the fact that I sold or gave away everything my wife and I owned and moved across the country just to work for Disney. But if it's what they think I need to do in this case, then I guess I have to quit. I am being driven nuts in the buses right now, and yesterday's incident makes it so much worse. The only reason this option will happen is if, in my meeting, I find out that I am just too guest-service-oriented for Disney.
So now, a request like I would make on other boards for the prayers and pixie dust as I do this. 'Cause there is no pixie dust flowing in buses. Cranbiz still has some left over, but I don't think he's passing it out to other drivers. In fact, I would ask that he not. It would just be wasted on nine out of ten of them.

You are soo right Bryan. What extra Pixie Dust that I have goes to you. Please let me know (privately) what happened yesterday so that I don't make the same mistake. I do hope that everything works out. You are the CM that Walt strived for and it would be a shame to see you go and it would be a great loss to WDW.

You are showered with loving thoughts and prayers. My you get job mercies and my you have a hedge or protection from stupid manager and may you find a caring soul at work who will help you be happy and at a better paying jobl. You are a blessing to the guests at WDW and a great asset that should not be wasted.

No pixie dust and please do not go to WDW and start spanking the tinkerbell toys, figures and CMs. That would be a horrid way to get fired. CM pervert was spanking all the Tinkerbells in WDW. :D:
