Some of the early season ones will work fine but the more destructive or potentially hazardous ones in later seasons may not. When the show first came out there was a big problem that kids were watching and trying things without knowing safety procedures. So the producers let it be known that they made sure that in all the later seasons there was always at least one ingredient or procedure left out of the show so that kids couldn't blow their hand off with their flame thrower made from a magnesium bicycle frame (and yes that was one of the early shows and did inspire a copycat).

Of course my favorite MacGyverism I read about (in TV Guide) was his "Swiss Army Bench". When Anderson (MacGyver) locked himself out of his trailer he took a picnic bench and threw it through the window to get in. The crew heard about this and the next day the bench was painted red with the Swiss shield prominently on it. That bench was always kept right outside Andersons trailer for the entire run. :D:

I think my favorite is still the automatic station stops you rigged for your monorails. Randy can run six monorails on a single loop and none would ever run into another.

I still have to see this. Might even be worth a trip to Chicago. Next time I fly to Potland, I'll have to go through Chicago and make a stop and see it.

Wow what memories guys! I remember the thing about them leaving one ingredient out to prevent copycats. I still love that show in reruns. I hadn't heard the swiss army bench story though that is so funny.

I LOVE mythbusters!!! "Worst case scenario. . .Adam dies." LOL

I'll have to set the DVR for that ep about Macgyver cause we never used to miss it and I'd love to see the guys go at that stuff.

Speaking of shows like Deadliest catch. . . OMG- Ice Road Truckers.

I have a Contemporary Resort model up above my kitchen cabinates with the monorail stationary inside of it! I feel so pathetic now LOL

But all my die cast models are lined up straight! Well. . . *tilts head to side* maybe. . .
