That manager was my homeroom for the next 2 years...We never got along...I wonder why...
Like the OP, I tend to take things a little to personally and I'm very emotional...this time however, I had no doubt that my reactions were "normal/legit" considering the circumstances.
That's when you give the Phil Holmes Confidential Voicemail a call and let his bosses know how he handled the situation. Yes, your reactions were more than normal; I daresay that you handled yourself better than most others would have given the circumstances.

ok compared to the last post my bad guest story is going to sound stupid lol. it was 2 hours before i clocked out for the final time as a cp. the day had already not been the best. i was working lunching pad and had a guest order a fcb(aka, slushi). i told her the price she handed me her card watched me make it and when i handed it to her she said, quite rudely, doesnt it come in a sports cup? I said yes you can get it in a sports bottle and told her how much it was, she said well thats what i wanted!(ok so im supposed to be a mind reader????) I figured out the price difference and it was like 2 something. i asked you wouldnt happen to have 2 dollars would you she snapped no just put it on this as she thrust her card back at me. i said ok it will just be a few minutes until a gt can get here to refund your money. she looked at me confused. i told her you were already charged for this one(held up drink). she rudely states well you should have offered it to me in a sports bottle!!!! (wouldnt have been such a big deal but after saying large or small sodas, waters, which kind of pretzel, what flavor soda, what flavor fcb, ect. all day long cuz apparently people dont realize thats what the menus for i had had it, her attitude made it worse) i looked at her walked away from my register went to the back called the gt and stayed back there and of course then started crying lol. i think all the bad guest encounters had finally caught up with me. i managed to not cry the whole summer over stupid guests and it got me two hours before i clocked out for the last time. anyways she gave the gt a hard time for like 10 minutes, another cm came back and was like shes still out there bitching trying to get something for free. i believe the gt finally told her thats what the menus for (in reference to me not offering it to her in a sb) lol. If she would have been nice about it, i probably just would have given her the drink in the sb. i know im a bit long winded in my stories here is the kicker though that completly ticked me off. The guest, ya she was a freaking cast member herself!!!!!!!! when she first came up she showed me her id to see if we gave discounts and its what i verified her credit card with. she was full time too. she must work backstage because there is no way that lady could interact with guests.

A guest ruined my day on Saturday on Astro when he called another guest an "Idiot", especially when the guest is mentally challenged. How couyld he say a thing like that?? I was so shocked by his reaction.

I had the worst experience today. I was working Cinderellabration (for the last time ever, for me :( ) at MK. Well, it was in between shows right before the parade, when this kid runs up the stairs at the bottom right unto the stage. He then proceeds to run up the platform. Well, we are calling to him, but he ignores us. We are waving to him, you know in the "Come here" motion, he ignores that. I now get on the stage and am chasing after him. I try to grab his hand but he keeps pulling away. So as a last resort, I pick him up and carry him off the stage where his mother finally comes up to get him (she had been standing at the bottom, just calling him, the whole time). She then takes him back down. All over, right? WRONG. They apparently complained to an ops cordinator. You want to know what they told him? According to a CM who speaks spanish and was translating, she said that they told him that I pushed him! And that they wanted to be comped something. Well, too bad for them that several other people saw the whole thing. So that was my bad day.

Some guest come from sub-cultures where yelling and exhibiting belittling behavior is a normal way of conducting themselves in public. For instance, sub-cultures that hail from the New England States. (I am just stating a fact. If you don't believe me, just ask few guests behaving in this fashion where they are from).
My Response: Well, I'm not from New England, but I currently live in MA. Yes, I've heard the term "Massholes," though I've seen little of this behavior. Of course, I live in a city that's a Western MA magical hippie love bubble, so what do I know?
Also, my New Hampsha relatives are/ were quiet and laid back.
Speaking of cultural differences, I recently visited WDW from Oct. 15 through the 21st, when the parks were inundated with guests from the UK. It was fairly common for me to be surrounded by people with British (or English, whatever the preferred term is) accents. I really don't have significant SG stories to share, because all in all the atmosphere was... well, civilized. I honestly didn't see any out-and-out rudeness. Is this usual with the UK invasion?
In any case, I do my best to follow the Golden Rule when dealing with CMs or anyone else in a retail/ service position. I find it hard to believe just how self-absorbed people can be. And this guy had his child with him? Nice. Great example. I feel sorry for the kid.
Man, I don't know how you guys do it....

I just read aurorasleeping's story with the threatening guest. Holy sh**! The man belongs in jail, and he should NOT be raising children. What kind of person makes such a dire threat over a stupid stroller?! That's a brand of sickness I'd rather not contemplate.
And management upbraided you for YOUR behavior? That would have been it for me. No more, I'm gettin' out of Dodge. You handled it far better than I would have.
Sorry that I'm jumping in so late on this thread, but I'm new here...
