In which case, one should not pass judgement until one has walked a mile in those lovely black moccasins that CM's are required to wear.
Especially when you have to walk to the CC breakroom in pouring down raining through the giant river that the road has turned into...

Well hi everyone I just have to say I'm new here and to WDW. I haven't even gone through my training yet and am a new hire.
Having said that I will say that I have worked with the public for years in the restaurant and catering business and also worked briefly for another themepark and to Disneylover I will say this.

99% of the public are STUPID

I wanted to work at Disney because I love Disney and I think I know what to expect because I have done similar things before but honestly unless you have worked in a situation where you deal with great amounts of people on a daily bases you have no right to talk "Disneylover" (I bet I love Disney more than you)

One restaurant I worked for was Applebees and our District Manager's motto was "We love our guests but our guests frankly are stupid" it's true anyone who does that sort of work knows it.

"Disneylover" has obviously never worked with people and if "Disneylover" had to work with people for one day I'm sure you could not handle it from your comments!

I say bravo Indy I have enjoyed your comments and everyone elses and although I have not worked for Disney yet I have had similar experiences for example.

Scene: While serving one night in a popular restaurant in Kentucky. A couple is seated at my table.

Me: "Hi how are you folks tonight may I start you off with something to drink?"
Guest: "yeah I'll have 2 long island iced teas and 2 bud drafts"
me: "Oh I'm sorry sir, but according to Kentucky state law we are only allowed to serve one drink per person per table at a time." (True tis the law in Kentucky or else the restaurant can be held liable for accidents etc...)
Guest: "Bring me 2 beers and 2 long island iced teas!" (louder and angry)
Me: "i'm sorry sir..." (I repeat myself again and add) "I can bring you each a drink and when you are finished I can bring you another I just can only have one drink per person on the table at a time"
Guest: "What the hell for?"
Me: "I don't know write your congressman" (At which point I walked away I was moving back to Florida anyway so I didn't care lol)

Another short example similar to things I've read on these boards:

Scene: I'm hostessing at a buffet style restaurant that also has full service

Me: "Hello there how many in your party?"
Guest :( There is a long buffet bar behind me in plain view with steaming mounds of food and buffet runners going back and forth the the kitchen refilling) "Uh so how does this work ya'll got food here or what?"

Classic HYS!!!!

I suggest Disneylover wake up and join the real world! People have to have a place to vent!

As a over 300 time visitor of the WDW resorts I once overheard a conversation while riding on the monorail from the Polynesian to the magic kingdom. Couldn't believe it. I'm sure you all can though.

Mother to five year old child: "ohhhhh honey are you excited you're going to see bugs bunny!"

I wish I was kidding I just started laughing as did the rest of my party.

HYS

Look forward to maybe seeing some of you around someday at WDW!
Sorry for the long post for my first time! Just had to interject! :D:

Good, you should get lots of hours cause last I heard they're desperate for people. Maybe some Adv. people can correct me if that's changed. That also means, I won't be running across you, though, I'm in Fantasyland and don't have to shuttle from K lot. :)

Hey all,

Haven't posted here much, but done a lot of lurking. Anyways, I used to work at Pecos & El Pirata (MK, WDW) I think my favorite questions received have been:

Guest :( after watching the glow carts before spectro) Was that the parade?
Me: Yup, it's all over and Wishes starts in about 30 min.

Guest: How can I get to the Indiana Jones ride?
Me: Do ya have a plane ticket?

(overheard while exiting Animal Kingdom as a guest) Guest: Man, I wish they would turn the air conditioning on in here.

Guest: Do you have any dirty bathrooms?
Me: Of course not.
Guest: I've been looking all day, but haven't found any.
Me: Why would you want to do that?
Guest: I wanted to see if what they said about the bathrooms being clean was true.

(at Carribean Plaza)
Guest: Where's the bathroom?
Me: [crisscrosses arms and points one over by the Pan/Hook greeting area and the other into one of the El Pirata dining rooms--there are bathrooms in both areas for those who don't know]
Guest: You mean that there are more than one bathrooms in this place?

Hello!!!!
I'm new here and I just had to join to share this with the rest of you. I am a monorail pilot at WDW and was driving the Epcot monorail this morning when a guest asked me the stupidest question I have ever heard since working there. On the way to Epcot there is a patch of trees that off to the right hand side are down and all over the place due to the three hurricanes that passed through. The guest looked over and saw all the damage and asked:
"Was all this damage from the Tsunami?"

I must say it took me a second to realize what she had just asked and so I became completely speechless and dumbfounded. Needless to say I'm now so thankful that my life wasn't endangered by the Bay Lake Tsunami. HA!
Stupid guests... see ya real soon!
