When I call in a code V or call custodial for whatever reason. I give my name my location and where the problem is. Such as "This Stduck at the Haunted Mansion, we have a code V in Expanding Room 1" When custodial gets there we direct them to the cod V or what not.

This is GMC from steam trains, i'm at toon town depot, Holiday four has a code v in the back seat, i'm closing off the area. It's on Car 401, and this train should be at main street station in about 10 minutes, so if you want to have you're CM's 87 that location, it'd probly be best, unless there's someone right at tomorrowland, or can be there in five.

That's exactly the best way to report it to Custodial Control, GMC. With that much information, it's much more likely for us to be able to reply, because it tells us exactly where the Code V is, where it will be in a given amount of time, and where we can go to meet it. (Of course, a traveling Code V is rather unusual...)

Still guys, count yourselves lucky. When I worked rides at Knott's, we had to clean up our own code Vs, unless they were literally spread all over the place.

Also, avoid calling in stuff like soda spills then you guys cleaning it up by the time custodial shows up, even if its only 5 minutes.

I still haven't had the "pleasure" of a code v clean up at tower, maliboomer, or soarin', however I have had meds at the first two. The two code v clean ups that are the worst are in planters, or on weird surfaces such as the stone road through grizzly peak, wooden planks in peir, or anything in DTD. attraction vehicles can be hard to clean too (see tower). I know sud n' clean will ruin the sheilds or seats on maliboomer (I forget which), but don't know about asepticare.

Vomit sucks. We had an 'incident' in River Belle the other day in which someone upchucked in one of the lines. It was there, and we let the bussers know (they clean it up with the "Barfomatic"). Some woman came charging to the front of the line yelling that she was going to sue for emotional distress because she didnt come to Disneyland to see vomit in a restaurant. When our lead offered her some dessert later to compensate, she took it and ran. Nothing good comes from vomit.

They won't let us use sanisorb bits (aka pixie dust) because they say it gets into cracks and won't come out, and its not biodegradable. That sucks because it would work so well in many areas of dca because the ground is smooth and non brick/paver. They also took away sud n' kleen because they switched chemical suppliers and/or cms complained that the smell made them faint. You can still find a few bottles though, some cms stashed it in their lockers. It works better than the asepticare. Makes cleaning a code v more pleasureable.

In this case at least at route we call it in because we don't have pro towels readily availible. But if its in a place that it needs to to be cleaned immediatly, we still try to locate pro towels(usually by yelling for a passing cast member) if we can, if we find some we clean it up but we still usually need like a mop or something damp to clean up the sticky area.

So we are to clean coke spills? That would be fine if we had the supplies to do it. We have no supplies. Also at star tours if any sticky liquids gets underneath the cabin it can cause a major down time. It causes door locks to stick and in extreme causes we have had it stick to the sensors under the simulators and cause 2 to 3 hour downtimes. Another thing I had a question about. I was told that we are not allowed to do custodial work because of the contract. It this a myth or a fact?

If you want pro towels, pick them up from a custodial locker. I guess you'd need them if the soda spill is in a bad area, such as in the loading area. Just don't call it in and then end up cleaning it yourself 5 seconds later.

As for crossing union lines, something like cleaning up a soda spill is pretty much nothing out of all the messes in the park, not going to save any labor, but sweeping the queues all day long park wide is baaaad. So is outsourcing cleaning dca cm restrooms (which just happened), really hurt our hours (took away 4 shifts a day) and the cm restrooms are now trashed, especially the small ones like mullholland madness and playhouse talent, but the dca contract says they can outsource as much as they want.

When we hired in they did tell us that all CMs double as both Custodial, and Security... sure there are some tasks we shouldn't do just because we are not trained to do them, but the other day I went around the indy fast pass boat house with a dust pan and broom, and cleaned it up... and i lived (any parents with lazy kids should appreciate that tag on)
