Read a wonderful quotation about DCA in one of the many John Hench obituaries. When asked at the grand opening what he thought of the new park, John replied, "I liked it better as a parking lot."
What a guy, style and honesty! He left us too soon.

My friends and I -who have all worked at Knott's- called DCA "Walt's Berry Farm" because so many of the attractions (esp at Paradise Pier) were rip-offs of KBF attractions.
When I first visited there I had to laugh at the DCA Farmer's Market selling Knott's Berry Farm jams and jellies.

Them: Oh, DCA??!?!?!
Me: NO! The "OTHER PARK"!!
Them: Huh?? (Pause) O k, KBF!!

Ha Ha

Sometimes I call DL the "park down the road". It's a lot easier to travel to DL via Beach then Ball as opposed to the freeway. Less than five minutes travel time on some days.

i've changed what was here, becuse ur right ur not all bad, and i do hold very high standards as far as personality goes, and it just so happens that at the time of this post i knew i few DCA CM's that were, well, less than what i would consider par, however after spending a week or two here, i realized that it was a generalization made off two or three people, and i also found that some of the people here, are less than wha i would consider par, as well. as far as your costumes, i was making fun of whoever came up with those, but if dca makes it to 50, it will hopefully still be the same costume decisions, because it will show how things were in the park at the point in time which the park opened, in much the same way that disneyland, main street in particular, depicts a nostalgic scene that was familiar to some of the people who were around when the park opened. i'm sorry to have offended everyone, but i still hold many parts of the other park in comtempt, ie, i miss the parkinglot, and how you could watch the fireworks, and hear the music, even though most of that area is north of the golden gate bridge, or was replaced by indy.
