Ok, a couple of things I heard that's different. And let me say first, I won't be using CDS 3.0 much, because I'm at book (it's hard to use it for deployment when the person you're supposed to bump is in the middle of the canal) But, I heard that you do get walk time with the break, and there's a sheet that is handed to you that tells you exactly when your break is done, so you have no excuse like, I forgot what time I got bumped out.
Also, your break is supposed to start as soon as you get bumped out, and you're technically supposed to be back in rotation at the end of your break, but with CDS, it's now back at the computer at the end of it.
And, it's my understanding that CDS actually saves on labor, hence the reason they put it in.
Again, just things I've heard/been told and I won't have to use it much.

You Small World peoples that have been here before the land lock probably remember Gerry. Well Gerry takes note in a little book of how late everyone comes back from break. Well gee, um come on. I've seen cast members wait in the last position of the rotation waiting for another cast member to get there to send them on break. So the cast member doesn't actually go on break until 5 to 10 minutes after they were supposed to be bumped. Some times the rotation is all screwy and you can't find the cast member. So I can see why they are making everyone go to the computer to get bumped out so there is no excuse.

thsi new deal is gives someone a certain amount of time to go and get you, and it's designed so that your break starts... when you get your bump, BULLSHIT, if i'm out at greeter then it's going to take five minutes (more than the two alotted) for my bump to get there, and another five just for me to get backstage, i've timed it myself, with guests. the only answer to this problem is to just walk fast and not stop to help anyone, ever.

Yeah, that was the story we were told the week we tried CDS on the WDW Railroad. Didn't work out that way.
The biggest problem was that they tried to use it *with* the normal rotations. This was especially troublesome, as CDS doesn't know where you are when you check in.
For example, I finished a break in Toontown, and got a CDS slip to bump someone at Frontierland to lunch. I went onstage just as a train was leaving, so it was a 10 minute wait for the next one. Once it arrived, I spent 14 minutes travelling from Toontown to Frontierland -- along with another CM who was actually working the train. When he got bumped, the other CM said, "Well, my lunch is back in my locker at Main Street. Guess I get a train ride," and took his own 14 minute trip -- again with another CM operating the train. From the time I checked in to the time he *started* his lunch was 40 minutes! And trust me, he took his full 30 minutes as he was entitled.
As you can guess, CDS couldn't get us all our breaks and lunches, and still rotate us around to our assigned closing spots (and closing times, which differ). At the end of the first week, we'd rung up over 60 hours of overtime for Conductors alone, with more hours for Engineers. And of course we did it with exactly the same number of CMs as before.
Personally, I'm not worried in the least about my trains being put on CDS again anytime soon!

I admit that this new 3.0 sounds like it sucks for most of you guys, but when I worked at the GIANT TELEPHONE COMPANY we were considered late if you logged into your position 1 second after the start of the minute you were to start. So, if you were scheduled to be on break from 14:15 to 14:30, you had to unplug just before 14:15 and had to be plugged back in by 14:29:59. No leaway at all! You were allowed 3 tardies or absences for the whole YEAR before you were started on your way down the discipline highway! And, to go to the bathrooom you had to put up a tag and wait your turn, then on the way out of the office you had to sign out and push a button that started a timer, then when you were done you had to stop the timer, sign back in and then go back to your position. If you took more than two bathroom breaks a day, a manager would most likely pull you to her desk and ask you if you were having potty problems, or whatever. It took a lot to get used to, but back then it was considered a GREAT Union job, with the best benefits and pay.

I'm so glad I don't have to deal with any of this crap in custodial (I guess it makes up for our sucky job of having to deal with the guest's crap and messes). 90% of the people in the office will not mark someone as late if they're within 2 minutes or so on time, unless a manager is around. The other 10% is the exception. You know when your breaks are the minute you get to the area and are assigned a position so they're never all together at the end, or if you're on trash you can take your breaks "whenever you have the chance too". Ultimate freedom. Bathroom breaks are cool unless they're over 10 minutes, then its just standard to ask someone to make a round through it halfway till your estimated return time. Waterbreaks are pretty much standard, but don't get caught sitting down unlesss its a code 90, then they give you a waterbreak inbetween the other breaks. And lunches are ALWAYS the middle break unless its impractical to have it there (ie dinner being at 10:00 pm the minute the bungalow closes).

indy and thunder already have it, steam trains is supposed to get it on dec1(they shoulda learned the 1st time that trains isn't a CDS location) (then agian they are trying to give us intrusion) as soon as the cast destroyment system screws me over more than once, i'm putting it in writing and turning it in to a union steward, and i recomend to any of you who've found it to, legitmently hender your ability to work, give you a late break, or anything else of the sort, to do the same, it's the best way we can get it fixed.(or be rid of it)
