I train newbies to treat Custodial CMs well. When the chips (or whatever else the guests had for lunch) are down, there's nobody on property who I'm happier to see arrive.
Zazu, your post is MOST REWARDING. :D Thanks so much for training new CMs to realize we are more than "just those trash guys." We are intelligent humans with feelings, are on stage for guests as well as CMs, & LOVE to joke around!! Wish more would train with your spirit. Yup, when the chips are chucked on the ground or there is a code U or H everyone is glad to see us

When I see custodial taking care of a problem at my attractions or just doing their job I thank them sincerely telling them they are awesome and to keep up the good work. When we have a code V that causes a 101 we are so happy to see them. (Yes it happened think code V from load 2 through to the exit of mansion....)

Custodial rocks. My best friend was in Custodial and if I didn't work in Attractions, I would have chosen custodial. Custies have some cool perks like being stationed all over the park, getting behind the scenes looks at rides (my bro saw the backstage of way more attractions then I ever did) and of course....who wouldn't want to be in the parade behind the horses...LMAO!!!! BEST JOB EVER!

Ooo Oooh! My first Code V was on top of the stairs at California Screamin and it was big chunks of pineapple. made me want to puke myself. Then another time I was sweeping out the cans for close-out at Main Entrance, and Patrick (the coolest of all the custodial managers) comes by and stops and shines his flashlight at one of the stone benches underneath the golden gate bridge. At first I thought that I had missed something, and i'm like "Hey Patrick whats up?" I look down and at the foot of the bench are two clean-n-neat, solid brown lumps side-by-side, about the size of tennis balls. I'm like, "What the hell?" It didn't smell at all, it didn't have an odor. So we scooped it up with my pan and took it back stage. You could only smell if you really got down close to it. In the end we agreed that it was a Code H. But it was weird cuz it didn't look like regular poo, and it didn't have a really strong odor. I'm still trying to figure out what the hell it was.

maybe you had swept up the life acheivements of some poor dung beetle out there...

My only Gripe about custodial is how long it some times takes them to get to cleaning up code v's... or at least the ones at my attrations, twice it's take more than 30 minutes to clean them up, and they're never in an easy spot to work around (which may be part of why it takes a while) but my favorite was the little girl who came down the stairs at indy and then puked at my feet, i probly got splashed alittle, but i was, as always, wearing my super nice, super heavey duty Dr. Martins, (they really are nice shoes, i wear them when i'm in need of formal attire,) so i grabbed a trash can and put it over it, and re routed my queue to avoid it, i can't belive the parents actully were able to convince me that she was ok to ride... i should have sent her to our emergency bathrooms to freshin up before going on, but oh well. Oh and then my manager and some group of company whosie-whats-its come down the elevator, and she kinda crooked her head at the trash can and i went to her and said "code v under the can, and sort into the queue there"

and she said "good marker" i could tell she was impressed by my ingenuity.

Great thinking GMC :!: This is exactly the procedure all CMs should follow. Your ingenuity is A+! Your trainer must have had been good. Many CMs don't have the quick, clear thinking you did. They call & cry or yell. Cover or queue/rope around until Custodial can get to you. THANKS! Why are we so slow getting to calls :?: Have no idea, yet we don't intentionally make you wait. Do everything possible to get to your area with our pixie dust, towels, pan & famous code V smiles. Hot days in the park are the worst! Nights suck yr. around as we never know what surprises guests will leave then walk away. AMAZING! Simply AMAZING

You're lucky. When we have a code V on the Railroad, we have to keep running. You'd be amazed how many people have physically pushed me out of the way so they can sit in a puddle!

Custodial likes code V's on the trains, because they get to take a 20 minute ride while they mop up.

Most vode Vs on Mansion or Pooh do not cause a 101, just tag said Buggy or beehicle. Ah but the one that I am talking about was ALL OVER THE MANSION. I think the load belt too...if its on the belt we can't load guests

101 is Disney code for "An Attraction Is Down." or not working. Clean your ques & catch up during 101 or take a break
