Actually, Kemosabe means trusted scout or faithful friend. Tonto, on the other hand, means silly or foolish.

During an interview Tonto was asked if he knew what Kemosabe meant. Tonto replied, "Mother."

Although a bit long, I found the movie enjoyable with Johnny very funny and likable in his role. Hubby didn't like it, but my younger son and I laughed out loud during several parts. Maybe too many stories going on.
