Not a translational story, but still another good one from the ICU.
A different, very good looking, nurse had a similar tramp stamp Chinese symbol. The residents were always hitting on the young ICU nurses. During a code, this nurse was leaning over the bed doing CPR. Her scrub top was hiked up and a resident standing behind her doing nothing, belts out, "What's your tattoo mean?" Without missing a beat, she looks back and says, "It means stop staring at my ass."
Never did find out what it really meant, but everyone in the room busted out laughing.

I remember when the AHA changed the standards for CPR. (the new ones emphasize chest compressions first and at a faster rate) One of our instructors would enthusiastically tell her students to pump "Harder and Faster". I think the BeeGees line would have been just as effective and resulted in less snickers.
