By the way, Zazu... You don't need to know Morse code to get into ham radio nowadays.

One of the HAMs at work has put echolink on his iphone. Allows him to hit just about any repeater over IP.

There is an iphone app for the morse code. I am a technician but I'm being pushed to get my general since the morse code was dropped.


Parties of 33 should consider dividing their parties into two groups of 16 and a half each.

That's true, but I can no longer get paper for my Model 19 Teletype Page Printer, so what's the point?

When I was a comm chief in the Army I had a tty operator that could read paper tape by running it through his fingers. Just like reading Braille for him.

That's pretty remarkable! I could read it by eye... slowly. Can't imagine doing it by touch!

hobie, I know this "finger reading" is possible. My 2nd cousin lost his sight overnight at 8 yrs old. To give him new outlets & help him while at home, Mike somehow learned to read paper type before he was taught Braille. He now is in D C & very much in demand testing software for the gov't
