Disney Fans Tweet From Storybook Circus Soft Opening
Re: Disney Fans Tweet From Storybook Circus Soft Opening
Still think being unable to see the castle from Dumbo is a great loss, but gotta admit the fountains are way cool. And it may be the excitement of having the other Dumbo going at the same time would cancel out the no castle thing for the average kid, I dunno. May be a great view in the end, though.
Some of the artwork had the two Dumbo rides covered up so they looked like circus tents, which I thought was just crazy; looks like they're not doing that for sure, and the view isn't as bad as I feared even in the closed-up parts. :) Nothing to look at, right now, but I assume they'll ultimately be landscaping those areas with the view from Dumbo in mind.
The train station looks terrific! I like that viewing area out of the way of people waiting for the train, where you can watch the train come in.

I know a few people who are happy about this. The walkway to Tomorrowland was always a great place to watch the trains, and if the crew saw you, they'd put on a little show.shilohmm wrote: The train station looks terrific! Which I assume will still be the case, at least if I remember the plans right there's nothing new in the way. But this one is *right there*, and raised a little bit.ktulu wrote:The walkway to Tomorrowland was always a great place to watch the trains, and if the crew saw you, they'd put on a little show.

Kman, I have never asked you, have you been to Carolwood in Griffith Park? Are you a member of Carolwood Pacific Historical Society?

I agree that the walkway to Tomorrow Land is a great place to get pictures of the trains. ;)

I haven't been to the barn yet, nor have I seen the combine. I have been to Griffith Park (numerous times), specifically Travel Town and the LA Live Steamers. it was one of my favorite places as a kid. Getting to climb into the cab of an old steam engine was always fun! I know Walt's Barn is open on the third sunday of every month. I just need to try and plan a visit around that time :D:Main Streeter wrote:Kman, I have never asked you, have you been to Carolwood in Griffith Park? And yes, I am a proud card carrying member of the Carolwood Pacific Historical Society!

Hummmm, with what or how can I entice you to plan a trip soon? :) Maybe combine Carolwood visit with CM preview of CarsLand?

Thanks! I too consider it a pretty good shot, considering I took it with my cell phone camera. I just good a new Smart Phone recently and it takes much better pictures than my old cell phone did. Now there I have no excuse to not take pictures. I always have my cellphone with me, when I'm out of the house, and it saves me from having to carry around a camera.shilohmm wrote:Nice shot! :locomotiv
That shot was taken as the Sun was setting and actually came out a little darker. I was able to lighten it up using Photoshop.

More Photoshop with Photo Tools 2.4.
