Next time ask them what continent Russia is on and them ask them which one they think Canada is on. I bet they don't know the answers. Ever watch Jay Leno's Jaywalking on the Tonight Show? They are many SGs out there and he has a knack for finding them.

Have to share my fav SG
Where I work in WDW I get asked at least once a week if Canada is apart of Russia, with my favourite question ever being "Were your parents alive during Stalin's reign or did they know Anastasia?"
Pleaseeeee Canada is not part of Russia. Really had to get that off my chest!
OMG that is hilarious. Guess schools quite teaching geography and do a crap job at teaching History.
I am so totally going to Epcot and ask this question though.

Greetings CanadianCutie, I am the resident dragon and would like to offer you a very warm* welcome to that slice of the internet we call SGT. This website contains threads with quick twists and turns and I would like to advise you to not try too hard to keep up with them. Please keep your hands, arms, and legs safely inside the website at all times and enjoy your stay.
*this instance of warm is actually hot**... very hot
**this instance of hot means that you are now literally on fire, I would like to take this opportunity to apologize for any inconvenience

Trust me it is not the schools... I try to crack open heads and pour in history and geography all day long. The student model is defective.

Well, now that the firing part of the welcome is complete, here is your very own transportation system. Back when they put Tron on Coral, we decided to rent Coral for her next paint job. Here it is. Check it out the next time she is going through World Showcase:
:sgthello:
Goodness, I miss driving Coral. Such a smooth train. Sometimes smooth right through and out of the station, but smooth.

That's funny, I was in the Canada pavilion yesterday, and I overheard a father say something about being in Russia. His daughter said, "If we're in Russia, I think we're going the wrong way."
I thought, "If you think you're in Russia, you're in the wrong park!"

Oh, they have FAR more in common than that! Just off the top of my head...
*Their flags both have red.
*Both are in the frozen north.
*Canada has socialized health care and Russia was Communist. This is totally the same thing. See also: red flags.
*Both are large.
*The names of both contain the letter A.
*Both are outside the US.
*Sarah Palin can see both countries from Alaska.
So you can see why the two countries are often confused. Anyone could make such a simple mistake, really.

Welcome CanadianCutie!
Growing up in the Northeast, I've always been well aware that Canada is not in Russia. ;)
It does remind me of the first time I went to WDW. There was a CM on the Front Desk at the Contemporary that probably thought I was a SG! I went to pay for something in cash (a little something we used to do back in the day) and I pulled some coins out of my pocket to get exact change. Well, there was a Canadian dime in there and I didn't think anything of it at all. Coins were always a 1-to-1 exchange rate, and in the Northeast they are taken by all merchants. The CM gave it a funny look and said he couldn't take it since it was Canadian. My first reaction was (internally) was "Yeah, so?" After I stood there with a blank look on my face, it dawned on me that the whole taking Canadian coins thing was probably only common near the border. I had just grown up with it so it never occurred to me that it wasn't universal.
