It depends on the show. Whenever I play Mugsy, or Kid I only like to be refered to the charater whenever I'm on stage. But for a show more complex you refer to the charater when in prep backstage for going onstage.

Those are just some of the basic rules, but there are many more that I cannot think of.

Unless it's on stage, we're humans. If no guests are present then people appreciate not to be referred to as their character. If you don't know the person and you're trying to get their attention, they'll probably answer to their character name, but they'll probably be annoyed. If somebody gets offended that you DON'T refer to them as their character offstage, then they're one of the creepy people who lets it go to their head, in which case they shouldn't be encouraged. We do have some of those people. They're scary

meh at disneyland the characters tend to not care what you call them, and all answer to character names.

well they all pretty much stay together in the same little group, but i love watching them intereact onstage, even though they sometimes ignore me. my favorite character experience was at areils grotto, Goofy came and sat at our table, while our food was being served, and we'd informed him that we were CM's, right away he definatly relaxed his act, and made it seem like he was our co-worker Goofy, (not out of character, but not in Full on Guest/tourist entertainment mode) which was most delightful for us, and made our night great. that wasn't really relavent, but if ever i talked to a character backstage that i didn't know, i'd hope they'd be ok with me calling them by thier character name, in much the same mannor that someone micht yell hey trains guy/conductor, if they missed my nametag, i mean that's how you're dressed, and paid to be dressed, besides much the same way, that once my name tag was noticed, i'd be called by my name, i'd call them by they name they gave me.

No, most hate it. I work at DL. It's really, really annoying. I only know one person who likes it and she's not really all there, if you know what I mean. :throw:

Drop by and say hi. We're really nice. Onstage during the summer is intense and there are soooo many guests around it's hard to interact with CMs, but now it's dying down and we can play around more.

If you don't know their name, to get their attention you can call them by their character name, but once you learn their real name, it would be best to address them by that. It can be hard because we don't wear nametags. The newbies always have a hell of a time learning everyone's names.

lol well you guys dont have name tags on the out side of your costumes that say "John" or "Sally" like other cast members do, so if we are trying to get your attention we're going to call you by your character name if your in the damn outfit. Especially if we dont know your name.

Just like if i saw jessicarabbit walk by in her leather shop costume, i'd say hey, leather shop, and then try and catch the name tag. and yes I do try and interact with the character as much as possible, unfourtunatly now that the season i swearing off, hours are hard to get. but it was real neat one day When Jane and Turk (terke?, gorilla from tarzan) were sent over to help create a mob blocking entry to indy during a down time. it was even more fun when tom and huck showed up, even though nobody really knows who they are, i really only know because someone told be i should be whichever is the taller, tom i think.

I actually met the person who played Huck. He was really cool. From what I seen there are two people so afar playing Huck and the guy I met was I believe is taller. I met him while doing Fantasmic! and he was out of costume, too. He looked so much different then when I saw him as Huck. Everytime I go out to do island for Fantasmic!, he is always there on the island interacting with the kids. He is great!!!
