IMNSHO, from what I've seen and experienced in the workplace, forcing employees to go faster is a recipe for accidents, leading to lost work time, lowered productivity, and lower morale overall.

Unless the business is a racing team, in which case it's a good thing.

I watch out for this with my employees. I want them to keep moving but not to do anything wreckless. The company tells us everything that is 30lbs or more requires a team lift. Then they make just about everything 30lbs or more. My husband's store had 100lb sacks of rice. We wondered if it required 4 team members to move a bag of rice.

I ran a tech support group. Part of the tech's job was to do system installs. We had a lift weight limit of 75 pounds. That worked fine until engineering came out with a new unit that had multiple processors, power supplies, and other cool stuff. The only way the techs could lift the equipment was to remove the power supplies,
We eventually contracted with another company to send in two people to rack the systems and them my guys would do the install.

Ha! How many years did I lift patients, always over 30 lbs on my own? Despite the obvious hazards, only a few hospitals have lift teams. Takes an act of God to get together more than 2 nurses, and patients can sometimes run over 300lbs

Years ago I got beat up by a tree and fractured my wrist. Hauled off to the ER, shot up with morphine, Xrayed, and a temp brace until I could get a fixator installed.
I was so whacked out on the junk that I couldn't sit up and get into a wheelchair and the nurse and doctor couldn't get me up. In comes the BIG NURSE. She pops me up and loads me into the chair all by herself. She probably could have gotten me into a fireman's carry, taken me out to the parking lot and thrown me into the back of the car without breaking a sweat.

Working as a baggage handler at the airport--I looked at this--requires being able to lift 75 lbs., repeatedly, during your shift. I think mail carriers have a similar requirement.

So much I could say about this that I can't, about seeing the results first-hand.
