Yup. My crew put the store back together last night. I have decided that many plan on eating junk food if the storm comes. The salty snacks department did real well yesterday.

Good strategy on the snacks. Carb up so there's plenty of fat stored to live off of.

To those of you who think we West Coasters never have to worry about hurricanes, think again. Google "California Hurricanes" and what comes up might surprise you.

I suppose when Hurricane Irene--now a Cat 3--finally fizzles out, we can sing this old song:

Goodnight, Irene
Irene, goodnight
Goodnight, Irene
Goodnight,Irene
I'll see you in my dreams.

:D:

Old news, for CT anyway! :D:

Funny thing about this storm is that I thought I would have had better chances seeing something like this during my CP, and not up here in CT! The eye of Irene is going almost directly over my town. Only concerns are that we aren't really engineered for hurricanes. There's a shelter open in my town but I'm hunkering down at home. The heavy rains are starting now and the winds are picking up a bit. Here goes nothing!
