People call it MGM all the time. I actually did it just today when I told a guest to head over to MGM to see Fantasmic. Of course I still will slip and use Epcot Center and the living seasgoofyjoe wrote: I still sometimes catch myself calling it MGM.)

I do the same thing, I still call it MGM Studios and it seems to drive my friends utterly nutty when I do.
"No, it's Hollywood Studios"
Yeah yeah, Tomato/Potato..
Then again I still call Downtown Disney by "Disney Village". ;)

It'll always be MGM Studios. Just like the Seas with Nemo & Friends will always be The Living Seas, the TTA the WEDWayPeople Mover, etc.
Around here, however, we don’t look backwards for very long.

I actually don't call it MGM anymore (haven't for a few years now). The name change doesn't bother me

I will be your guide for this magical journey into the movies. It's the perfect job for me, because I love movies! Is everybody ready? Great, because it's showtime. Ready when you are, CB!

I still call the Magic Kingdom Disney World. Not always. And Hollywood Studios MGM now and again. And my first thought when someone says "Disney Resort" or "Disney hotel" is the Contemporary (the Poly opened on the same day but was not on my radar at the time).

I think that manager should be completely disregarded. Charging for parking would be the oddest, stupidist idea. First off, they already have a problem with cast parking in the cast lot when they are guests, it being $15 cheaper than properly parking... Second enforcement would not happen, there are way too many ways to get free parking by waving any square object at the booth CM.
And as a personal bet, I don't see the hat going anywhere anytime soon. There is no reason to justify the expense of removing it, those of us who remember that it wasn't there are in the minority and I don't think someone coming to the park for the first time is going to realize the awkwardness of it.

Well, I can't speak for Florida, but in California, RT&P has some of the most blockheaded managers I've ever seen. Like earlier this year when they decided that they were going to turn 15 Minute parking into a dropoff only zone. (What the hell were people picking up supposed to do?) Fortunately this bright idea lasted all of two days.kurtisnelson wrote:I think that manager should be completely disregarded. Charging for parking would be the oddest, stupidist idea. Sounds like the same well thought out plan by whatever idiots who decided to move CM shuttle drop off & pickup out of Harbor Point circle area (you know what I mean:o :) & out nearer Harbor Blvd. a year or so ago. EVERY CM I know complained! I just went to APD & said; "No. Not safe officers. There are many CMs with R Os & Harbor Blvd. is just kinda not safe." No one listens to me....everCBeilby wrote:RT&P has some of the most blockheaded managers I've ever seen.
