I did not say I did not love it.
But Cinderella Castle is 2.52 times higher than Sleeping Beauty Castle (189 feet vs. 75 feet). And you can see Cinderella Castle from almost anywhere in the Park, so it is always a point of reference While you can only see Sleeping Beauty Castle from a small area.

And, when you get on Main Street, your first question will be "Where is the Castle?!"
Not funny. Walt Disney wanted the castle to look the way it does. Have you no respect for Walt? :(
As for World of Color. to be frank; it really doesn't matter if some are underwhelmed by it. The fact of the matter is; the general public loves it. The show is popular, California Adventure finally has a nighttime spectacular of its own, and it has helped out the park tremendously.

Not true. From certain angles, Sleeping Beauty castle can be seen from other areas in the park.
Besides, Disneyland has other points of reference as well.

I agree.
Disneyland was the original Disney theme park created and actually enjoyed by Walt himself.
It deserves respect, not ridicule.
Its a fact that Walt had no interest in creating a Magic Kingdom park in Florida anyway. He felt there should only be one Disneyland and he didn't want to repeat himself.
His big idea for Florida was EPCOT. But he had to agree to make a Magic Kingdom before he had permission to work on EPCOT.

Tara_Lee3 wrote:Their favorite Character Dining location?
Sadly, I've never done character dining. :( But I do believe the main place in Disneyland that has character dining is Plaza Inn in the mornings.
Tara_Lee3 wrote:When the best time of day would be to show up with 4 adults and a 2 year old?
Morning, at least half an hour before the park opens. (Which is usually around 8-9 AM.)
Tara_Lee3 wrote:Which rides I should Fast Pass and which I should stand in line for?
Fastpass for Indiana Jones, Splash Mountain, Space Mountain, and Big Thunder for sure. You can usually get into Haunted Mansion fairly quickly on the weekdays. No Fastpass for Matterhorn and Nemo subs so you're stuck in line on those.
Tara_Lee3 wrote:Whether World of Color or Fantasmic! should be priority?
Fantasmic, for sure. WoC is pretty underwhelming as it's all just water and fire effects.

Perfectly stated & posted Disneyguy - as usual. :) I want to post re; our BEAUTIFUL DLR Castle but at this point mho wouldn't be allowed & sitting in time out isn't something I wish for.
Disneyguy, I need to clarify my WOC post to you. The Pier is too cold for me. Not WOC. WOC overwhelms every guest I've ever spoken with. We are very fortunate to have WOC show @ DCA.

You may want to check and see if Fantasmic is showing while you're out here. I know that it is currently under hiatus and I'm not sure when it's coming back.
As far as character dining, Goofy's Kitchen unless the little one is a huge Princess fan, then Ariel's Grotto may be the better choice. First couple hours and last couple hours of the day are the slowest, unless it's a 10-8 park hours day then it's pretty much slow all day.

WoC and F! are both great shows, and can be enjoyed in a single evening if you have a wonderful guide to help you out!
As far as the castle argument, all I can say is you won't find a non-photo-chopped picture of Walt walking through the gates of Cinderella Castle ;)

Thank you all so much for your advice! :) I'm the main Disney-phile in this group, and I'll be lucky if I can get the other three to be there with me for longer than about 6 hours. (seriously, 6 hours, the whole trip.... if I'm Lucky!) Still, I really am looking forward to it.
Tell, me... would it be dumb to bring my CP graduation ears with me?

You're going to be at Disneyland, for goodness sakes. If you're not wearing ears of some sort, you won't fit in. ;)
Just be careful when wearing them on wet and/or fast rides.
