Just a Stupid Guest here, but I would suggest calling Guest Relations ahead of time and -- without giving background on your husband's personal life -- ask if he can wear an Alice costume during MNSSHP. You may want to wait until it's closer to Halloween before asking.

And even if they say it would be ok, I'd bring a change of clothes if I were you, just in case.

Oh, Whew. That's better.

I know a (straight, like OP's husband) guy who would be supper pissed with anyone who insisted he shouldn't be exposed to children when he's in women's clothing. Of course... unless Disney Security is as invasive as TSA, they probably wouldn't be able to detect him anyway... he makes a very attractive woman and has an androgynous name.

I am sure I posted it before but this is reminding me of doing a magic trick back in Portland for this kid who I couldn't tell whether was a boy or a girl, so I asked their name.

It may have been, but that was not my intention. I was merely playing the Devil's Advocate. Although it's still an opinion as I am not a part of Disney Corporate.

oh no, I entered in a "pooh" costume. Guess I was cross dressing too. ;) But serious, I probably would not notice your "alice" when I couldn't stop noticing the naughty "princeeses" all over the park last october.

I was surprised they all got in.

When we were in Disney for MNSSHP in 2010 we talked to a family who were dressed as Geppetto, the blue fairy, Jimnie Cricket and pinocchio (my spelling sucks). Mom was Geppetto, Dad was the Blue fairy complete with beard, the little girl was Pinocchio, and the baby boy was Jimnie. The 7 year old girl came up with the idea. They gave my sisters who went as Tinker Bell, Alice, and the White Queen (I was the Red Queen) glow sticks. I have also met a family dressed as Peter pan characters. Mom was Peter Pan, Dad was Wendy, and the 4 girls were Tinker Bell, Captain Hook, Tiger Lily, Jane (the first lost girl) and the two boys were John and Michael. Dad was a large man and said there was no way he could pull off Peter pan and it was his kids favorite movie and well a mumu could look like a blue nightgown. As to the girl as Captain hook her brothers wanted that costume to so their mom made them draw the character they went as out of a hat.
If your husband wants to be Alice who cares..... I might recommend something like a 5 o' clock shadow to show he's a man though cause the blue fairy with a beard was very memorable.

Well I e-mailed Disney and got this as a response

We encourage our guests, especially children, to wear costumes to
Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party! Adults are not usually allowed
to enter Magic Kingdom Theme Park in costume, but during Mickey's
Not-So-Scary Halloween Party everyone is encouraged to dress up.

As you select your costume for this event, please keep the following
guidelines in mind.

Costumes must not:

Cover the face or obstruct your vision

Hinder your ability to board our attractions or
transportation.
Drag on the ground.
Contain sharp or pointed objects that may injure other
guests.
Contain any part, prop or accessory that might be mistaken
for an actual weapon.
Be offensive to other guests.

We thank you for adhering to these guidelines and hope that you and your
family have a safe and magical evening!

So it would depend on if it could be classed as being offensive to other guests.

Having read some of the recent replies it does sound positive and we can do what we plan.
