We contacted ME1 and got an exception to give her the renewal rate, but we couldn't waive the down payments. When I told the Guest this, she flipped.

"WHY does Disneyland hate single mothers?! I'm gonna be honest, I can't really afford this right now, so you're telling me Disney wants me to choose buying an AP over feeding my children? Is that it? Disney wants my kids to go hungry?! I own a business and this is TERRIBLE customer service!" and so on and so on. I think at one point I even told her, "Mam, as a representative of the Walt Disney Company, I am telling you that we would prefer you feed your kids, even if that means we're losing one of our 800,000 Annual Passholders." I have HAD IT.

Not everyone can afford an AP. That's OK! Not everyone NEEDS an AP! They're a splurge! The payment plan is NOT NOT NOT NOT for people who are going to have problems making the $9/month. I am constantly amazed by how many calls we get asking us to hold off on taking the $9 out of their account because they don't have that much right now. IF YOU DON'T HAVE $9 EXTRA DOLLARS A MONTH, YOU SHOULDN'T HAVE AN ANNUAL PASS TO DISNEYLAND. YOU SHOULD BE PAYING YOUR MORTGAGE OR BUYING GAS.

Also, it's not a "membership" - it's a purchase. You can't cancel it. You bought it. If you bought it for you and your boyfriend and now he left you, you can't stop paying for his. You signed a contract, you made a commitment, it's yours now. You can't "opt out."

yeah, disneyland wants them to go there and forgo feeding familys and paying rent and buying clothes and beer.

I know single mothers and she was no single mother.

Another scam. The formula money would either be spent at a liquor store or go to a drug dealer.
Yup. When we were in San Diego, a 'lady' approached us and said she'd give us her food stamps in exchange for "a place to stay for the night" in front of the Ralph's we were about to enter......she said she "had enough food"......So what address are they mailing her food stamps to,and where is she storing "enough" food? Just wanted sympathetic people to give her $
She admonished us that she was 'just trying to save us some money' as we walked away

I got my Universal AP on the payment plan, but only because it was exactly the same price as buying it straight. I of course calculated out the present value of the pass at current interest rates and such and found I can "save" $30 by keeping my money invested and paying monthly.

My only debt right now is my credit card and usually I keep it paid down but I had some work issues this month. I don't even owe anything on my car.
Me too. I buy my Busch Gardens and Disney annual passes when I have money for them to buy them outright. That way, the money is already out and I don't have to worry about a monthly thing, and it's one less thing I have to worry about when I do my bills.

I just have ONE MORE car payment! Woo hoo! You can't believe how good making that last payment will feel.

Prepare for the wheels to fall off in thirty-five days. :D:

Yeah, probably. My last Cavalier didn't start having major issues until about 200,000 miles, and then it was easily replaceable parts. I finally got rid of it at 275,000 miles. So I still got a little bit. I want to put off a car payment as LONG as I can.

Although I will be putting that money into fixing her up a little bit at a time, like a tune up and new brakes. I also need some front end work, but I am very lucky to have a mechanic friend that does a little work at a time as I have cash.

I used to by a season pass for my local amusement park. Of course, that was back when I was a bit younger, had my summer days free (due to working as a "para-educator", which was the new term for what most folks call a teacher's aide), and my friends had them, too. It was nice to be able to, on a whim, get into my car and drive over for a couple of rides or just to relax and people watch while having some ice cream...

Sorry, was swept away by a wave of nostalgia. What were we talking about again? :cat1:

If you're getting 200K miles plus I'd say you've more than broken even.

You should have told her to forget about feeding her children, and just buy them APs! Then she could bring them to the park and let them run free!
