While I can well understand why WDW would like to keep the MSEP, I think if they want to have the Parade be more or less there forever, I would prefer that they just build a second copy of the floats, so that it isn't a case of only one park or another having it.

Perhaps someone here (Zazu. Paging Zazu to the thread) can explain where our main street electrical parade ended up. We shipped WDWs to DLP, and they stopped running it a while ago. Did it go to Hong Kong? Is it boxed somewhere rotting?

They'll probably ship the old rotting WDW one back to us....and maybe some Fort Wilderness Railroad Coaches too. Hah! :p:

Frankly, I'm finding it very hard to actually care right now.
The MSEP we got is a pale shadow of its former self. Yeah, a couple of floats were replaced, but so was *half* the soundtrack -- not even a complete redo. And the 20 characters in the last unit were replaced with eight humans. True, they're babes, but it's just not the same.
I'm particularly amazed and disgusted that modern technology cannot do a better job of reproducing the sound of the original synthesizers.

Ah, no. The coaches have all been trashed. I can put you in touch with the folks who bought the FWRR locomotives, if you're interested. At present, none are in operation, but two show potential.

You mean the "To Honor America" float? Were there really ever Disney characters with that unit?
For the life of me I cannot ever remember seeing Disney characters with the "To Honor America" float while watching the parade at Disneyland or DCA.
As far as I can remember it was always "babes".

I really miss the parade they had at Epcot in early 2000's. I for the life of me cannot remember what it was called, something about dreams. It had huge drums. I wish they would bring that back!

Tapestry of Dreams
It was a follow up to Tapestry of Nations. I enjoyed Tapestry of Nations more though. I didn't like the way it disrupted my meandering about Epcot at night prior to Illuminations. Some of my best SG stories involve people trying to get in front of other guests' during the parade. Saw one near fistfight once when two SGs and little Timmy tried to get in front of a family with a primo viewing spot for the parade.

I rather enjoy SpectroMagic. I wish it was coming back :(

Ugh. Tapestry of Dreams was a makeover travesty of Tapestry of Nations. They should have left the parade alone for 100 YOM, then given it a decent burial, instead they remade it into Dreams, and made everyone wish it went away.
I think it was the change to the score of the parade that *really* turned me off.
(Yes, I am telling you what I really think. :D :)
