Re: Is CP for the
I was over at internal casting the other day listening to a couple of CP's whining about how they can't get a transfer because they have too many points and reprimands on their record card. Here's a clue, shidiots-show up for work every day, on time, and do your job.
Don't get me wrong-I've met some great CP kids-but the losers really do give them a bad name.

I too am glad that Disney will get rid of them for acting up. I have a feeling it might happen a lot after reading some more of the CP threads..... yes you must have a 2.0 (:confused :) and yes you can get hired with a conviction on your record......Teresa Kay wrote:My kid wants to work in the CP later. I never even thought about there being any benefit for me. I want her to get the benefit of working for a world class organization, not be there so I can get discounts!
I'm glad Disney isn't taking any of their crap and is culling the ones who aren't serious about the program.

I will be your guide for this magical journey into the movies. It's the perfect job for me, because I love movies! Is everybody ready? Great, because it's showtime. Ready when you are, CB!

I'm reminded of the story of the CP who flunked out of Traditions on day 2. I'm still trying to wrap my mind around the concept of that much stupid getting through even *one* semester of college.

Most of my friends who are in college, the go through the CP when they are about 1 year from graduating.

I think that's what has Zazu stumped. You need to make it through at least a couple years of college to do the CP, and people flunk on day 2.turkeyham wrote:Most of my friends who are in college, the go through the CP when they are about 1 year from graduating.

Hey, you can't just share the punchline without telling the story!Zazu wrote:I'm reminded of the story of the CP who flunked out of Traditions on day 2. I'm still trying to wrap my mind around the concept of that much stupid getting through even *one* semester of college.
Well, okay, you CAN, but I'd love to hear more details on how the heck the CP managed to flunk out of Traditions.

Obviously, he didn't know that without them, our lives would be as shaky as a fiddler on the roof.... :cat1:Amphigorey wrote:Hey, you can't just share the punchline without telling the story!

Okay, for the benefit of those too lazy to go look it up from the first time I posted it:Amphigorey wrote:Hey, you can't just share the punchline without telling the story!

I was scheduled to train a new hire, but the day before I was to do so I got a call, "Don't bother coming in tomorrow."
"Um, why not?"
"The girl you were supposed to train is 'No Longer With The Company'."
"Wow, what did she do?"
"She flunked out of Traditions."
"How on earth does one flunk Traditions?
"Well, she came the first day, and all was fine. Day two, she didn't show up at 9:00, so at 9:30 I called her room at Vista Way. Woke her up. Asked why she wasn't at DU for the second day of classes. Do you know what she said? 'What, you don't expect me to show up every day, do you?'"
"Ouch! So what did you say?"
"I told her that no, this was a free country, and she didn't have to show up for any job -- Disney or elsewhere -- any day she didn't feel like it. Then I told her that if she packed her stuff in the 20 minutes it would take me to drive over there, I'd give her a free ride to the airport."
"Wow, that's harsh."
"Can you train that attitude out of someone in just five days?"
"Point. Was she packed?"
"No, she refused to believe she was fired. Had to have Security escort her butt out to the curb. When I left, she was standing with her bag on 535 with a 'What in the world just happened' look on her face."
