I can honestly say this does happen. :o: It was before my time, but my high school was "disinvited" from WDW for about five years because one member of one class (I believe it was the graduating class of '89) stole merchandise on Main Street. By the time my class was up for the Senior Class Trip, we were allowed back, but my hubby had to spend his senior trip in Montreal (no offense....just sayin' - it ain't Disney). I did not go on my senior trip as I had to pay rent and insurance, so I couldn't swing it financially. But, yes, banning schools does happen.

Some really close friends of ours has a son whe graduates this year, his school is doing a grad night at DL June 8th or 9th, cant remember the date. They are leaving by bus the night before and spending the day at the parks, then doing the grad night that night and returning to sac the next morning. so this encounter could have been kids there for grad night, just during the day.

I have been at DL myself a couple of times during the day when there is a grad nigth going on and I have also noticed more 17-18 YO's in the parks as the day goes on. They can be loud and obnoxious. But I have also noticed other groups of kids at the parks for events (this april there was a bunch of kids there for some sort of glee club events) It seems when the kids parents are not around they act up, like no one can do anything about how they act.

A few years back, buses from rival schools pulled up next to one another in the parking lot on arrival for grad night. The kids almost immediately got into a fight with one another. I love the Disney response:

First, Security and management surrounded the fight and let it continue until they were all good and done. Then they let the Alpha Unit work on the kids one at a time until the bleeding was all stopped. *Then* they were informed they weren't going to grad night and were told to get back on their buses.

And finally, they were informed that their bus drivers couldn't even take them home for another eight hours because they had to have their legal rest.

Yup, two busloads of unruly and unworthy kids spent about nine hours sitting on a bus in the parking lot at the TTC. Their faculty sponsors took turns glaring at them, and I understand that they weren't allowed to use cell phones, ipods, or any other form of entertainment. Plus they had only the bus loo -- Disney wouldn't let them off the buses to use the restrooms.

And of course the news that the next five classes from their schools were also banned was sent home ahead of them.

Don't you just love it when karma strikes with an iron fist like that? Even *I* can't find a smiley that shows *that* much violence!

I remember going to my grad nite. My friend and I went on Star Tours and slept on the people mover.

I picked up the rules for the Grad nites here at DL. No Heelies, Ohhhhh!
No spike jewelry/belts, no large backparks and purses, no costumes, no food or beverage from outside, no weapons, markers, pens, pencils, laiser pointers, and aerosol cans. No cigs allowed. Allowed items: you can wear shorts, but why? Freeze? *Deoderant- sticks or gel only, no cans. ok, it says eye-liner pencils are fine.

I am reading the info guide for grad nite tonight. Autopia is open 11:30 pm til 5 am. There is a bunch of attractions open, but not much and fasspass will not be in operation. I heard from a source this evening that this grad nite has 30,000 grads.

I remember when I went to Grad Night at WDW. It was actually my first trip ever to WDW. We rode Carousel of Progress (believe we fell asleep), Liberty Square Riverboat, and a few other rides that I don't remember. We tried to ride Space Mountain. We waited in line for 2 hrs outside the building, and there was another 2hr wait inside, so we bailed.

My high school made it a 2-3 day trip for us. We spent a day in Epcot, Universal (don't think there was MGM at the time), and then the night in MK. DTD was the day we left. It was short and crazy, but was a great time that I'll never forget!

The first grad nite that I encountered was selling glow items. I wanted to avoid the grads in Tomorrowland. So I hid between 2 drinking fountains. Yup, I walked towards TLT and got slammed. 300 pieces of glow for $1. That was the old school days where ODV was located behind the American Sings Building.
