Hey, I drink and fly, as a passenger :) I'd learn to fly if my friend would get his CFI again and get rid of his 170B, which will never happen. Way too much money in it. I think it was a Piper Arrow I flew with him, and I've flown a Falcon 20 in the sim when he was training some guys at his old job.

Really money is no excuse...there are ways around the money...I washed airplanes for flight time and lessons...Also just hanging around the airport and "working" for people will help you out A LOT...Even helping someone out and doing a few "chores" for people (again like washing their plane etc. etc.) and they might even offer to let you use their plane to train in

Aviation is a small community...nothing matter about YOU, the only thing that matters WHO YOU KNOW, and WHO CAN HELP.....next piece of advice, this kinda goes for everything, but NEVER BURN CONNECTIONS WITH PEOPLE

Let's see, I have two daughters, 4 and (almost) 2, so I can't just "hang out" around the airport. In my friends case, money IS an excuse, I think he owes around $10k or more for the work done on the plane, part of which he feels he was over charged. The beauty of it is, he's been arguing the amount for over a year, so if he paid today, he'd have to turn around and get the annual done. Good times. My job also would not like if I hung out around the airport instead of coming into the office.

Oh, did you post an article? I'll go back. Usually we just respond to comments around here, well, Darph and I do. I can't speak for the rest of the peanut gallery.
