to all flash photographers on rides...
Re: to all flash photographers on rides...
There should be a lock bar that comes down. If you take a flash picture, it should shock the individual in the lap. If that does not work, hit the magnet button and the camera will stick to the bar. :D:

IIRC, there are electronic devices that play havoc with the IR flash sensors in cameras. I can't believe that Disney would not install these in dark rides to easily prevent flash photography.
Then again, from what I read here, the decision makers are not the ones running the day to day operations in the parks.

"Hey, youse! I sees a flash, I thinks someone's shooting at me! And I shoot back, got it?"delsdad wrote:The gangster should just confiscate the camera ! Work it into the script. :D: That way theres a public shamming involved!

It destroys the special effects in the rides too.xliath wrote:No I got one even better. I am at the park riding Pirates which happens to be one of my favorite attractions and a SG two rows in front of me is flashing away at every single little detail. Now i realize why flash photography is not allowed besides being unsafe it is also very rude. Ruined the ride for me. It is especially bad in the subs because it gets pitch black inside but what is funny is they learn the hard way that their pictures turn out to look like a white light. because of two sets of glass between the sub and the water. :)
and not just glass, like in the haunted mansion,
instead of seeing a nicely setup effect, all you see is layers
of scrim sheets and a few misc lights, instead of what they want
you to look at. and wonder why when they get home and look at them they don't see what they wanted too. GEEZ people, it's a optical illusion. optical being the important part...
I think there used to be a speil in there that if you used a flash all the ghosts would run away, or something. Should have been, Use a flash and the ghosts are going to go get thier baseball bats.

At the end of the ride, they tell you a ghost will follow you home. They should add, if you used flash photography, the ghosts would haunt you until you die, and it won't be fun and games, either.

Unfortunately they would only ruin the photo, thus giving the SG cause to take even more shots, spoiling the ride for even more riders.leftcoaster wrote:IIRC, there are electronic devices that play havoc with the IR flash sensors in cameras. What we need is something like the robotic arms in the Stitch attraction to come down and zap the individual SG. Ive even see those morons try and take flash photos at Philharmagic and Peter Pan !

I've taken photos at GMR, etc, but NEVER flash. Most flashes are are not powerful enough to be useful at WDW or DL anyway. It's very deceiving how far away you are from various show elements (like GMR). Even before getting a DSLR, I would always have high speed film in one camera, and lower speed film in another camera.delsdad wrote:What we need is something like the robotic arms in the Stitch attraction to come down and zap the individual SG. I think the SG should take a picture on Splash Mountain as they are going down the last drop before going into the tunnel. :D:

Nothing more satisfying than yelling at and shining a flashlight in the face of some idiot who thinks the perfect time to turn on their camera, phone, or other electronic device during the periods of darkness during Stitch's Great Escape.
Also, for those of you with moving loading belts, get in your damn ride vehicle before taking your MOST important scrapbook photo of your family already seated. That might just be the last photo you have of them since they'll become separated from you!
