I've seen them come along side a boat, roll over on their side and check out the humans with that big eye. The babies are always curious and will head towards boats unless mom herds them away.

haha they are quick, I have seen a few since im in FL but never that close, so ive never seen them catch fire

They may. If you go into the water at the beach and put your head underwater you can hear them talking/singing/laughing at humans.

For a couple minutes, anyway. After that you can't hear anything at all. Or see, smell, feel, etc. :D:
