Not all of them, some are sideways, some face forward.GRUMPY PIRATE wrote:The seats are sideways at DLR?

They do *now*. Originally one train went clock-wise, the other counter-clock-wise. Made for a rather interesting operation, and explains why there's room for two tracks at Main Street and Frontierland.hobie16 wrote:They run in a clock-wise direction. :D:
Interesting. Explains why Robert Olszewski's model of Main Street Station at Disneyland and also the Magic Kingdom have two tracks.Zazu wrote:They do *now*. The DLRR had two tracks at the stations to allow for the trains to pass, but they both traveled in the same direction, both clock-wise. Originally the freight cars would only stop at Frontierland Station and the Passenger Coaches would only stop at Main Street Station.Zazu wrote:They do *now*. His Disneyland Station is correct; his Magic Kingdom Station is wrong, as there was never enough width there for a second track.Shorty82 wrote:Interesting. Explains why Robert Olszewski's model of Main Street Station at Disneyland and also the Magic Kingdom have two tracks.
I could have sworn that trains were run in opposite directions at first, but a review of pre-opening photos shows that I was mistaken.ktulu wrote:The DLRR had two tracks at the stations to allow for the trains to pass, but they both traveled in the same direction, both clock-wise. Do you mean that the trains were used for transporting freight like merchandise within the parks ?Zazu wrote::
1. Trains all run clockwise, passenger stops at Main Street, freight stops at Frontierland, using passing sidings. Done for only a short time, gone by the end of 1957 at the latest.
Nope. Disneyland used to have a a set of freight cars that guests could ride on. Some more info can be found at Yesterland.delsdad wrote:Do you mean that the trains were used for transporting freight like merchandise within the parks ?
