I just recently saw a site that detailed the history of the 101 Drive-In, and of course now it's a shopping center. Last time I was with family and we drove through our old neighborhood I was shocked to see it was showing X-rated pictures. I mean, a drive-in, showing porn?
Titties and other .. um, thingies a story high and field wide?

Oh do I miss the old drive in. We had one in Kingston, Before the $4.00 carloads we had $1.50 pp. we always hid one or 2 on the floor and had a bunch sneak in from the back of the lot. Then they finally went to $4.00 carloads..
Funny, I don't remember seeing many of the second movies though. Too busy with other things, don't you know ;)
It was a bad night if you actually watched the second movie.
And what is wrong with larger than life titties? Go to Hooters and look around. :D:

Our local Outback moved into a larger space. Hooters signed a contact to take over the building. The neighbors raised a stink so Black Angus moved in.

Well, it was next to a major highway, and if you're familiar with the Ventura area, let's just say it reminded me of a single-panel comic I saw in a book my parents once had: Picture is of a drive-in, there's a scene of a woman using a scrub brush on her back while she's in a bubble bath, a car driving by on the highway next to the drive-in goes off the road and through a guardrail....
In the comic there was a field next to the road; near the 101, not so much. We're talking potential liability suit if that had happened.

The one fond memory I have of a drive in is when we went to see a double feature of both Ace Ventura movies at one in my hometown in Wisconsin. Those were some good days.

I fondly remember our parents taking us to the drive-in in Santa Maria. My dad would park the station wagon backwards and us kids would wear our PJs,bring our own popcorn and sodas (at the time). Of course back then, the movies wouldn't start until 8:00-8:30 at night.
