Actually... not quite. First, there are a few genetic and anatomical differences between zebras and horses, they have different numbers of chromosomes (thus, a zorse which is a cross between a horse and a zebra, will most of the time be infertile... much like a mule). Second, there's no albino gene in horses... all "white" horses are either grey, cremello, perlino, or the white is due to a gene such as sabino or tovero which is responisble for white markings... genetically, there's no such thing as an albino horse... I'm not sure what gene is responsible for the zebra's white, and what exact gene mutation occured in this zebra, but I do really wish they'd get him to a zoo and study him. I'd really like to know if they had different species of zebra or if this baby zebra's parents were both in the same species... but I won't get into that (unless anyone's interestedIndyBob wrote:Pschtyckque wrote:So, basically....

Thats my question too. Its just a albino horse now. I mentioned this post to a friend and he said he saw an albino(all white) bear once. And I replyed, "Isn't that called a Polar Bear?". Oh yeah, I guess it was. What a goof.
) This little guy just really interests me on a genetic level... bleh, vet school has ruined my mind.
