Stupid Guest Tricks

I am tech-savvy, enough to happy to stick with XP for now, thank you very much.

But will Windows 7 still allow me to use a couple of DOS programs? Such as I still use Lotus 1-2-3 Release 2.4; it is much better than Excel.

I don't have first hand experience on this, but I have heard that it is the best they have done in some time getting DOS programs to work.

darph, you babbling abt MSFT or me? There is so much I don't understand abt you. Won't even go there now though. :p: Vista & I were never friends. Hated Vista. Was glad to get it off. Am really looking forward to Windows 7 & it's capabilities. Don't want to do a clean install. My luck I'll loose lots of imp. data. :( Have had a love affair with Mac for a long time. So much easier. Wish I had my old Mac back. If I only had $3000.00 plus Ca. tax my new white Mac would be on my desk by Tues. Hey darph, wanna give me a gift? If not, a loan is great - promise I'll pay ya back.

meh. I took vista off of DW's laptop and back to XP, because some of the programs she runs dont have the patch for vista, and compatability mode didn't seem to work all that great. (she has a lot of design programs that interface with her various sewing machines via USB)

I have xp on two of my shuttles and two laptops and linux on another shuttle and a small tower.

I wont even think about Win7 until maybe the second release or service pack.

Why do you need a custom install? Do you have specialized apps?

Well, looking at that chart, it says if you're upgrading from WinXP to Win7, it's a custom install. No, my six year old Compaq Presario is a workhorse model. Needs more memory, but it's halfways decent.

One day Microsoft has to buy a clue. I'm so glad I started using Macs back in '85.

Just curious. If I "don't" get windows7, will I still be able to herass MS? And vice-versa,or will my HP take a big DUMP?
