True Story Time again.

We have a CM at WDW's BTM who has a reputation on the mountain for not being, shall we say, the sharpest knife in the drawer. Well, this Stupid Cast Member (SCM) was up at Fastpass Mergepoint some months ago when a VIP tour group came through. One of the VIPs asked SCM, "So, what's the difference between Big Thunder here and the one in California?"

SCM's answer: "Nobody's died on ours."

I know about the story because I had to deal with the enraged Guest Relations Guide after he put his party on the train.

You would be amazed at the drivel most guests will swallow if you say it a certain way. I do get that question too and I have adjusted my answers depending on the guest in front of me. Everything from totally serious to making the guest crack up at the fact they are asking about something that will more than likely never happen. Zazu is right about the lack of theming. When I worked at Knott's, I used the Ghost Town story or if something happened around October, that the monsters ran amuck. Usually, people forget what they were so gung ho about when you make them laugh. Try it next time. :D:

When I worked at Knott's, occaisonally someone would ask about Perilous Plunge and the death that occurred on it five years ago. We were told to say as little as possible or change the subject, but when I was asked--and I usually had done my research--I would emphasize two things; 1.) it was the lady's fault, and 2.) the ride restraint system has been recently upgraded.
