No,no, I'm old enough to be Cujo's Mom, apparently- but 40 years-unbelievably- have passed since the FIRST Moonwalk

Sounds like you were VERY young to be in the service, what was minimum age?

The legacy of that is astounding. Millions of people directly and indirectly involved. The industry created from that and the technology.

IMO had that spirit continued, we would be far better off right now economically. We would hold a huge dominance on a lot of high tech manufacturing and be better educated.

What was accomplished from 1968 to July of 1969 is hard to fathom today. Those two years stretched America's technology to the limit and forced technological evolution through necessity within a frantic rush.

Where we are today with our technological potential, imagine if we had that driving force.

I was just about to turn 5 when the moon landing happened. I actually remember watching it on TV, and my parents talking about how important and historic it was. It's one of only two TV-related memories that have survived from that age -- the other was actually seeing (at least some of) an episode of Star Trek when it was first broadcast. (For what it's worth, the episode was "For the World Is Hollow, And I Have Touched the Sky.")

I was a few months old when the Moon Landing happened. My mom has a pic of me on her knees (someone else took the photo) with a tv on next to us, and the Moon Landing on it.

Oldsters :D: :p:
