I think a lot of the problems comes from people who post, and get frustrated that they CANNOT make another poster change to their point of view on a given subject. They believe they are right, all other opinions and facts be darned!

Because it's on every post and to quote one of my many lovely detractors "She [meaning me] doesn't give a shit that it's stupid/annoying as all fuck, made that clear in her early days." The entire peanut clergy thread actually devolved into Mayo/Mayo's smiley bashing for about a page, after I conceded that I'd been wrong in my assertion that someone eating solid peanuts at one end of a plane should not be able to trigger a reaction in some one not near the peanut eater. (As it turns out, they apparently aresolize somehow, because they've found peanut protein in airline air filters.)

They have a serious sock problem over there though. I'm getting accused at least once a week of being someone else they don't like, posting under another user name, which to me indicates that people over there regularly post under multiple names. I'm up to 5 supposed people I am, unless as some theorized in the peanut thread, one of them is my husband, which is hilarious because I'm not married.

The fact that I get attacked so regularly over there for supposedly being someone else there, and no place else, definitely indicates to me that in an environment where admins don't (or can't, I'm not sure you can on Yuku) act to ensure people aren't socking up regularly, jerk-assery increases with the added layer of anonymity, as does paranoia and snap judgments about new users. Everyone's a troll until proved otherwise in such an environment.

I post on several Disney message boards, and I have found that people do things online that they most likely wouldn't do in public/with company (because of anonymity). Also, there tends to be topics that immediately draw the ire of others (pool-hopping, cutting lines, ect).

I post on several Disney message boards, and I have found that people do things online that they most likely wouldn't do in public/with company (because of anonymity). Also, there tends to be topics that immediately draw the ire of others (pool-hopping, cutting lines, ect).

I never got the concept pf pool hopping. Why would you want to drive across property to swim when you have a pool at your own resort? I understand that the pool at say, Beach Club is better than one at All Stars, but I certainly don't think any vacationing kid would certainly mind. It's pool for crying out loud!

And line cutting - It's wrong, no matter what excuse you have. If you have no GAC, No front of line privileges!

There are only two places I have been that seem to allow idiots to run unchecked, and that is the Myspace community that replaced the old KBFDrama board, and the boards on Monster.com. On the Myspace one, there's some putz in Vegas who thinks he's better than everyone else, and seems to have a real problem with me. His avatars have gone from a stupid blow-up skeleton doll, to a raving crowd at a concert. Hardly anyone posts on there anymore; maybe we should invite them, but not the putz, to SGT. We have the best mods here; I reported that jerk to the mod over there, and nothing got done. You guys would be having him for lunch.
Same thing with Monster--there's one person who is a certifiable raving lunatic about certain medical conditions, and has total faith in a quack. I checked the quack's site out, checked out her claims, and sure enough--she's so quacky, she should be growing a bill and feathers, as well as webbed feet, any day now! There's also another regular poster who seems to enjoy playing devil's advocate. They don't usually give me trouble. I reported the first one, but the mods there don't do anything either. Shoot, the "advice experts" on Monster gave the worst, overly-hopeful advice on careers, and half of everybody there has told them quite bluntly that Monster and its "experts" are full of you-know-what. They don't care. Anybody who's tried to find a job on Monster, especially their job scout function, knows how useless it is. I put in for jobs like writer, stock clerk, etc., and I end up with CEO jobs, engineering jobs, etc.--nothing that could possibly be relevant to my experience or goals. Maybe I should apply for one of those CEO jobs--look out below! :twisted: :D:

A few years ago when I used to frequent another Disney fan board, all the mods ever seemed to do was give countless warnings to the troublemakers. Never any action, just a lousy slap on the wrist. Some people don't deserve second chances.

Well I think I speak for all the mods when I say thank you. But you guys are the ones who have made our jobs a piece of cake. Any all fights are kept civil and to a minimum. When there is a trouble maker the report button is used PROPERLY. I've never been annoyed by the reporter when I get that email on my phone. So really as much as you want to pat us on the back you really should be patting yourselves on the back for being the most awesome community on the interwebs!
