lol I love that line....

One of my friends was telling me about a job he used to have... if someone was doing something stupid that they shouldn't be doing, and they got hurt doing it, there was LOTS of paperwork to fill out. BUT, if they died, then there was less paperwork to fill out... so when someone there started doing something stupid, he just reminded them about the paperwork, and how he'd make sure one way or another he wouldn't be filling out any paperwork  It usually stopped them pretty quickly.

God must love stupid people. He made so many of them.

I just hate it when guests take the ropes down themselves, when they do that, there's a mad rush of people going through and people geting stepped and stomped on.

Grad Nite merge point spiel:

"Welcome Graduates to Pirates of the Caribbean! If you are smart enough to gradate high school, then you are smart enough to follow our rules. One of the rules we have here is that there is no sitting on the queue chains. If you sit on them, you will fall, and we will laugh. Thank you!"

last night's grad nite, I had NO tolerance for those little twerps. I was at Splash photo, and I was just bein the anal retentive, goody-goody CM (because I CAN). Anyway, kid goes over the ropes, and demands to look at his picture. I told him to go back and come through the queue the CORRECT way, not the way that "an accident could happen, and I would have to make the call, and fill out accident reports for being a witness." He goes on to say "well, there was no one in line."
me: I don't care, go back around, and I will let you see your picture
him: why the attitude?
me: what attitude, you're the one not following the rules.
him: you know, you're a f***ing b*tch. .
me: only to people who don't follow rules. . .

he gets helped by another CM, and he tells the CM that I was really rude to him, and. . .

TALKED TO HIM IN A RACIST TONE!!

I heard that part, and asked him what he means by racist. . considering that race was never part of the issue.

him: I just think you're racist.
me: what makes you think so?
him: you just look like someone who has something against mexicans, and you're taking it out on me
me: what makes you think I might not be part mexican?
(i'm 1/2 filipino, 1/2 white, but sometimes i can be mistaken to be of hispanic origin)
him: because you don't have any mexican pride. . .
me: how would i show pride?
him: by letting me just cross the ropes. . .and I didn't go over. . I unhooked the rope, and walked through. . . .

(nope, I saw the left leg go over, followed by the right. . unless he just steps with his knees up to his chest. . .)

but yeah, granted that ropes are there for a reason, is it THAT hard to walk a few more feet, around a couple more corners?

It's a rope not a ride

Post by csulbgirlie » Sun Jun 20, 2004 2:47 am

One day at small world i was grouping guests onto the boat when i hear a loud thud. I turn around and see this girl laying on the floor crying. Turns out she was sitting on the chain and it broke. This caused her to hit her head on the railing and we had to have a CFA run.

Also, something that is so common it's scary. The que is devided in 1/2 near the grouper possition at small world so if the grouper must go up the side of the line they can to find a smaller group. A chain prevents people from coming down both sides, till a guest gets the bright idea that maybe they'll get on the ride faster if they take the chain down and start two lines.
I love the look on their face when i make them wait there for ever till i put them on a boat.

When I drive trams for backstage talent, I give a speil (ever since an incident where an ADULT MMD chaperone stood up and leaned over the side while we were moving) before departure:

"Please remain seated at all times while the tram is in motion. If you need me to stop the tram, please send a blood curtling scream my way and I will know that you need my attention."

yeah, I suppose I could have gotten more into it with that kid, but what I REALLY wanted to say was: . . .

"you look like someone who's mommy still needs to dress you"

(in case I didn't put it in my last post, the kid was wearing a nice suit/tie ensemble, navy blue/black color. . . with RED AND WHITE BASKETBALL SHOES!!!!) :!:

[quote="Pschtyckque"]We had such a problem on Indy of people hurting themselves at Rope Drop racing for the attraction, and tangling themselves up in the queue ropes.

So one of the GC leads had a sign made that said "Indiana Jones Adventure" on it, and I stood in front of Rope Drop with that sign, telling people that if they did not follow me slowly through the line, they'd be sent to the back. It really did help slow them down, and fill up the queue nicely.

And on nice busy days, I would walk really slowly to give the RO's more time before opening. ]
I used to do that on Space too. We all did actually. I think I may have even trained it that way once or twice.

I was working crowd control at castle the other night for the fire works. We normally clear out the area up to the carousel and set up ropes. To further deter quest from enetering into the area we have four or five cast members along the rope.

Along comes this girl. The area in front of the ropes is relatively clear-I guess making an appealing runway. I see her turn, face the ropes and then start running towards the rope. Despite the fact that there casts members everywhere, the girls gets to the rope and jumps. Who knows where she was going or why she felt that she had to hurt past us. But the cast member next to me reached up and caught her mid-flight. the girl droped, and ended up stradling the rope. the cast member said nice try and sent her off. What did that girl do, drop her brain in the trash? Did she think she was going to get past us? And if she did, where was she going to go? All the rides were closed and the entire area was ropped.
