High-power, awesome 3 hour VM rehearsal tonight! Packed house, great crowd, my family was there, and I got to meet Purpura from SGT. Very good night, but I'm dog tired. Six hours more tomorrow!

New this morning!

is stoked for today's VM rehearsals. We've already brought the contest set up several levels, and it's only going to get better today! Contest tomorrow!

My report for this thread, on how I met Wombat and his family...


I remembered him saying he was third from the right on the back row of the risers and I found the hotel first, then went to the front desk and asked for "The Vocal Majority." A man directed me to the ballrooms and I found the entrance to where they were.

I slipped in the second to last row of seats set up and quite a few people in them watching these gentlemen. I watched the group and then someone called for a five minute break so they could talk to their families, before practicing more, and then doing their performance songs, which were "Georgia On My Mind" and "Sweet Georgia Brown". The men moved away from the risers to go on their break and I made my move to go say hello to Wombat. I walked up to him and said hello, and met his wife and sons. I said something about not having a camera, but Wombat was prepared! His oldest son took our picture two times... One setting on the camera had us turned blue but Wombat corrected it.

Wombat is taller than CBeilby. I being a petite 5 foot 1, think I didn't even come up to Wombat's upper chest standing beside him for the pictures. *giggle*

During their start of their performance practice, there were a few smaller men that got lifted down in front of the risers while still singing Sweet Georgia Brown, and some of the men in front also laid down and acted like they were dead but still singing the song.

My name on here is Purpura and I am a fan of The Vocal Majority (Especially Wombats!).

How exciting, Purpura! You are now one of the elite few who have actually touched the wonderful Wombat (we assume you exchanged hugs or at least handshakes).

Ktulu, thanks for the frequent updates. We are living vicariously through your second-hand reports. That must be a first. :p:

We hugged. I walked straight up to the crowd of people, and was Like "Scuse me I'm looking for a Wombat, and it was written on his nametag B... "Wombat" R......... So I gave him a hug :) and we talked for a little bit and his oldest son took our pic, like I said before hehe.

made it through a fantastic day of rehearsal, and is now at VM's reception for family, friends, and VIPs. Good night's sleep ahead and contest tomorrow!
