One of my Character Attendant friends was at Epcot and she tells me that there was a fire. It was caused by an ECV that started smoking and apparently caught on fire or something. All she knows is that characters and everyone had to evacuated.

I was their when it happened....

All i have to say is that when you walk upto an on duty employee and tell them that their is a fire over their ( and point for good messure ) they should stop ringing up someones crap on the register and call 911 for crying out loud....

It has something to do with the fountin i believe.. the smoke was eminating from behind the planted section at the end of club cool... most likely place for a rectifier or transformer. The fountin is off and drained!

I prefer to imagine that maybe a wild, out-of-control ECV crashed into the fountain in a massive fireball.

I think someone that had just taken the Segway tour hijacked one of them, took the governor off it and lost control zipping around the fountain and ended up in a fireball.

After talking to some very well knowledged peoples around where I work.. they believe that the pumps and filters for the fountin are behind the shrubery at the north end of club cool... which is where the smoke was emmitting....

I guess we will find out in time...

Fountain was completely empty today. But when they fill it back up, it will not be the Fountain of Nations, but the Fountain of the Aquifer. Although knowing disney they probably have a spare bucket of water from it to keep with the idea.

I'm sure this isn't the first time that the fountain has had to have been drained for some reason. In the 26 years since the park opened I'm certain something in that fountain has broken which required draining to fix.

YUP, electrical fire..second in a short time for EPCOT. By Club Cool exterior and interior. Communicore area has lots of electrical in that area and fountain has to be drained for a safe inspection and work in those clusters.

Video is genuine. Fire took two hours from start to finish. That is, notification, staging, evacuation of area, handling and rehandling.

Oh and we had a nice moving car fire down Buena Vista on Friday night. Car moved right into epcot region then stopped. LMAO

No reported injuries that I know of...but brusied egos all around.
