Persons of the cloth use to get lots of discounts. It all ended when Kirby Hensley started giving away minister certificates for the Universal Life Church Inc. All the draft dodgers got one. It also was used as a tax scam that landed a number of people in jail.

Ol' Kirby finally got busted for selling Doctorate of Divinity diplomas but the damage was done.

Yes, at Knott's the entire month of November got military and First Responders (fire, police and paramedic personnel) in for $5, their families up to a certain number for free. At Knott's, the months were like, Jan.-Feb., dullsville; Mar.-Apr., Easter/Spring Break crowds; May, fewer crowds until Memorial Day, which officially started the hectic, super-crowded summer season; Jun.-Aug., packed everyday; Sept., crowded until after Labor Day, lull before the storm the rest of the month; Oct., Halloween Haunt ('nuff said); Nov. Veteran's Day all month; Dec., Christmas Craft Fair (almost as popular as Haunt.). Yeah, you lived for Jan.-Feb. and most of Sept., because then especially during the week you didn't have that many guests. Tues.-Thurs. were the slowest days. However, in July was when they started gearing up for Haunt, though they started with the backstage stuff first. By Sept., Balloon Race in Camp Snoopy was down until Nov. because the space was needed for the vampire-themed maze. Everything was packed up by then, ready for next year. Once I saw a backstage maze that had a dayglo orange sign on it saying that the fire marshall found it unsafe and it wasn't to be used. Knowing Knott's, they probably used that maze anyway.

I'm all for whatever discounts and freebies a park, or any other business, wants to give active servicemen, veterans, police officers, firefighters, and the rest. They are heroes to me just for serving, often thanklessly, and deserve whatever they're given.

But whatever is given doesn't mean much if it is demanded. What I describe above is a completely different thing than any one of them being entitled to take from the business what was not offered. That attitude stinks.

Meh. THEY LIVE TOGETHER the way I read it. They were disappointed that the Park didn't let them spend time THERE together for free when no pre-arrangements were made, then they got free tickets when they complained.
He certainly deserves our support for his sacrifices but missing out a couple free hours at an amusement park? Yawn. (their story,not the thread)

when i got injured in Afghanistan and came back stateside, my family decided to take a trip to DL while I was in no condition to ride any ride I never once thought about asking for free admission just because i couldn't partake in the rides I went and paid to "escape" reality for a few hours. Its former military members like this guy who make me mad as heck. Now don't get me wrong i am sorry he got injured but there are way to many families out their trying to cheet the system and get everything for free. I know Disney, Universal, and Sea world all have great deals for military member to enjoy their parks with family. Disney and Universal offer 5 days free for the member and 70% off for up to 5 friends. and sea world offers 1 day for up to a total of 6 people. So why these people complain is beyond me.

Exactly, there's a big difference between accepting what is offered, and demanding what you think you should be entitled to. And thank you for serving, crash.

Not 12. Not sure how the mutant children around where you live look, but I'm pretty sure that she is a 19yr/old looking person squinting in the sunlight. But who knows nowadays?

My friend's husband was in the NAVY and went off to Operation Desert Storm. After coming back, they went to Disneyland and they paid $43. They got discounts, but nothing for free.
