You know, there ARE some merchandising opportunities for "Up"

They can always make plush characters of "Dug" (the brown dog) and "Kevin" (the colorful bird) from the film.

I dunno, I just can't get excited about this one. The idea just doesn't grab me, and a 78 year old man flying around alone with a Boy Scout makes me think of that creepy Herbert dude on "Family Guy." I think I'll just go watch Wall-E again instead.

Merchandising possibilities are endless! Costumes of the kid, plastic play sets, shirts, a video game, and there appears to be a very colourful bird who would be great for plush. Plus, the house would be a cool parade float.

Also, kids can like the kid (whose name esapes me), old huys can like the guy, and the sane people can simply like the characters because they're interesting, gender and age are irrelevant. Not every good film has a female lead. Again, gender is irrelevant.

I think he is just a little sensitive about being vertically challenged himself so he doesn't want to work with anyone taller than him.

Now, I can only speak for myself but when it comes to Disney animated films (and Disney/Pixar films) I always try to be open-minded. I think that I will enjoy "Up".

This should be a very exciting film for people. And again, there should be plenty of merchandising opportunities for the film.

All one has to do is look at the film's official website and see the newer trailers;

"Up" is much more that just a movie about two people in a flying house.

Has anyone beside me and my sister been to Patrick's Irish Pub in Poway? They have killer mixed drinks. I got plastered on Thursday and forgot where I was.

I agree. I do love everything Pixar has done but this looked great to me from the first trailer I saw for it. Who cares about merchandising? Honestly, I'll buy merch if you start making better crap! I loved Wall-E, but most of the merch they put out was terrible! The only Wall-E thing I have ever wanted was a black polo shirt with a little wall-e instead of the RL logo. Ratatouille, on the other hand, had some great merch and I have no clue why nobody bought it. People always are thrilled when I serve appetizers or desserts on my little plates that have Remy and Emile on them. Something about finding a cartoon rat under your cheesecake makes people smile! :p:

To me, the worst part of the article was the end. I'm referring to the part where Pixar is going to be producing sequels to Monsters Inc and Toy Story. Seriously, they were good movies, why must Disney constantly try to ruin my childhood memories by tacking on half-baked crap that goes directly to DVD 90% of the time!?! That's what I won't watch or buy. But anything new from the real talent at Pixar...yeah, I'll go see their originals every time!
